How did I live without it?
What can I say about this high quality clay roaster other than it's great. The glazed interior of the bottom makes cleaning easy. It results in the most delicious and moist whole chicken. It can't be beat.

Consistently Good Chicken
Juicy chicken every time! Easy cooking method. Place in oven and kick back for a yummy meal an hour later. Very easy to clean after it cools down. Just be careful not to shock the clay with drastic temperature changes to prevent cracking. Have used this method for years to feed a family of 4.

Great Addition to Our Kitchen
I bought this 4 quart clay cooker to bake bread. It holds 2 loaves. I can bake a white loaf and a grainy or herb loaf at the same time. I shape the loaves to be oriented the long way on the buttered pan bottom. The lid is soaked for about 20 minutes in cool water. I put the covered cooker on a cookie sheet into the cold gas oven and and set the temp to 400 degrees F. I bake for 40 minutes. Then, I take the lid off and put it on my towel-covered counter. I am careful not to shock and crack the clay. The bread is pale, but it has terrific oven spring and looks moist. I cook it for about 20 more minutes at 425. Then, I dump the bread out onto the cookie sheet, bottoms up. I put the Eurita bottom on the towel covered counter. The bread bottom is pale, so I bake it for about 5 more minutes. I check the bread's internal temp. It should be about 200 degrees F. In addition to the bread, I made the best corned beef in my Eurita. It was tender and juicy. While it is true that meat doesn't dry out if you cook it too long, you can ruin the texture. I did that with a chicken that I overcooked. Some tips: Start cooking in a cold oven. NEVER subject your clay pot to sudden temperature changes. Always have a towel-covered surface ready to place your hot Eurita. Wait until it is completely cool to wash it. DO NOT use soap on the unglazed parts. Use a soft brush to clean the unglazed parts. Baking soda can help with greasy areas. The unglazed part does discolor. It gives the clay pot character. Let it air dry completely before storing. Have a storage place where it won't get knocked around and broken. This is a wonderful kitchen tool! The bread is amazing!

Good baker, short life
Good clay baker, but it only lasted 3 years. I bake sourdough bread in this baker about every 6-8 weeks and it always baked a really good loaf! It started developing cracks during the first year, but stayed together. Just baked this morning.. let it cool thoroughly as usual and then went to wash it and it broke in two. Not sure if that's the expected life of a clay baker, but I was kind of disappointed. Now I have to decide whether to get another one... probably a different brand.

Does NOT hold up over time!
I have only used this to bake bread. I use parchment paper, soak the top only before baking, gently wash and dry by hand when it needs it, never bumped or dropped it either, and have always treated it like it's extremely fragile because it's not very thick. Unfortunately, that didn't help. It worked great for about 15, maybe 20 uses, but then the bottom started to crack, and eventually, it just cracked in half (in the oven!) so I had to throw it out. BUMMER! The crack appeared in the ceramic coating first and then spread, the top with no coating held up just fine. I have a smaller but significantly thicker Romertopf (no coating) I've had for over four decades (no joke), and have used it a LOT, never a crack or any issue of any kind at all, ever, even when it was manhandled. I just wanted a larger baker for big loaves, thought this was it and would be similar to the Romertopf. Oh my, was I wrong!! SO SAD, THIS BRAND IS NOT VERY GOOD QUALITY. Save your money!

Mmmmm, good!
Yum, Yum, Yum! Years ago I had a clay roaster similar to this…well, when we moved out of state, never saw it again. Recently my hubby and I were thinking how lovely it would be to get another clay roaster. Boy, does this make the BEST roast chicken and veggies. This one came with a little recipe book as well. Easy cleanup… I’m sure I’ll look forward to making some other mouthwatering creations as well.

La calidad del material el diseño y dimensiones es excelente. Si realizas carne al horno de estufa convencional recomiendo considerar poner doble parrilla a tu horno por el peso.
