Légère Reeds are simply fantastic. They last much longer and do not suffer with moisture. The sound is pretty good.

I was skeptical about synthetic reeds. Back in my marching band days, I remember people trying some pretty awful plastic ones that sounded thin and lifeless. These Légère reeds are a different story—consistently high quality and durable, without the hassle of working with cane. I appreciate that the manufacturer offers a range of cuts and weights. I’ve tested six different reeds, and my favorite so far is the 3.25 European cut—it delivers a warm, smoky tone that fits the jazz numbers I’ve been working on. Finding the right cut and strength takes some trial and error, and that can get expensive. But once you land on the one that works for you, they last longer than cane, and it’s easy to reorder and trust that it’ll perform reliably every time.
