Exactly as advertised.
Used this in my studio to get a mic cable into a tight spot. Worked fine, and easy to use. You have to decide which of the seven available orientations to use during assembly. Changing it later is possible, but you have to take it apart to accomplish this. It looks like some prior users did not understand this. Suitable for studio use, or on the road in a permanenet rack setup. Probably wouldn't tolerate hard road use for long. Good value, perfect for my application.

Great plug electrically, but it will be fixed at one position at the time of assembly
Totally did the job and have a solid feel. I took away 1 star because I was hoping for a connector that could be rotated at any time to meet any of the 7 positions. Instead, you have to pick one position at the time of soldering and it will be locked into that position basically for good. That was a bit of a let down for a 9 dollar plug. Yes, it would be technically difficult to make a plug like I was hoping but the description wasn't totally clear. I hope others won't make that mistake. Otherwise it's a very high quality plug.4 stars. I wish I could twist it

Useful in extension charging cables for scooter battery boxes
Pride mobility scooters are great but they require you to get to ground level to charge the battery, and the folks who need the scooters are often unable to bend down to do that. So they use short extension cables plugged into the battery so that they can bring the charge port up where they can reach it. Great idea, right? But the problem now is that the extension cable is near their feet and it gets kicked around often damaging the battery port or the extension cable connector. Well, the solution to that is swapping the end that plugs into the battery with these right angle connectors. They plug in flush against the battery and the cable can be routed out of the way of their feet. Anyway I've fixed two scooters using these connectors and they are working fine.I like the way the wire is guided through the strain relief to the connectors and the method they use to allow you to select the angle at which you want the wires to leave the connector when it is plugged in. It allowed me to customize the cable to best route the wire out of the way of the rider's feet.

Good for studio and fixed connection
Adjusts to a variety of angles. I gave only 4 stars because the cover is held by two screws at one end: good in a studio; but on the road, one would need to be careful the cover is not pulled off.

Awesome, had to replace the connector on my shotgun mic and ordered this. Was easy to install and love the fact I was able to adjust it to fit the space I had to work with.

I have been putting connectors on cables since 1990 and in 28 years this is the biggest piece of junk I have ever ever ever used. I would have given it negative Stars if they want to let me save your time and money and just buy Neutrik connector

Buy the Neutrik instead
I have the same review for both the male and female version of these right angle XLR connectors, so I will probably paste this review to both pages. The product arrived promptly, was securely packaged, and works perfectly. I used 7 of these in my pedalboard build. Once assembled, they are solid and look great. Here's my issue: the design of the connector is such that the strain relief and main assembly must be in place on the cable and the pin connector must be locked into the barrel before you can solder. I wish I had taken some pictures during assembly to illustrate, but the bottom line is that you have a unnecessarily awkward solder job ahead of you. For later builds I used a similar connector from Neutrik that allows you to remove and solder onto the pin connector and then insert it into the barrel and assemble the rest of the connector around it. Infinitely easier. I added an LQ photo to show off the build and will reassert that I'm still using these connectors. I would definitely buy from Advance MCS Electronics in the future but would not buy these connectors again.

Really well built. Works great for my XLR needs. You won't regret this purchase.
Installation took about 5 minutes with a soldering gun. Make sure you research the wiring for Balanced of UnBalanced XLR. Works perfectly in tight spaces where you need the wire angled out a specific way. Super Happy !!
