RUNA Clean Energy Drink Alternative, Traditional Guayusa Tea, 16-Count Tea Bags

I discovered guayusa by accident when I saw bottles of Runa's premade iced blends at a local grocery store. I've long been a fan of interesting, obscure teas and tisanes so picked up a bottle to give it a try. I immediately loved the subtlety of the flavor and the lack of bitterness. It definitely tastes similar to mate, but without the harsh notes that are present even in un-smoked types of mate. I immediately ordered some of these tea bags and started drinking it regularly.Although I started drinking it cause I liked the flavor, I was pleasantly surprised by its energizing effects. I am really susceptible to caffeine, so much so that even two cups of decaf coffee will leave me jittery and unbalanced. This tea, though, definitely leaves me alert but calm, and with a clear-headedness that I rarely get even from green tea. When I can, I have a cup of it in the morning (as the indigenous peoples apparently do) either before, with, or in place of breakfast, and that keeps me going all day. Having some in the late afternoon or evening can keep me awake, but it's been useful when I have to be up late.If possible, though, I would give this particular product 4.5 stars simply because I find that the pre-packed tea bags do not brew strong enough for my taste. I got a bag of the loose-leaf, though, and find that works much better (and also reduces packaging waste yay). I've also found that the flavor gets a little stronger when the drink is cooler, rather than warm, which is counter intuitive.I haven't tried their flavored blends yet but honestly I enjoy making my own flavored teas by using the plain guayusa and adding fresh fruit, spices, chunks of ginger, and/or honey.Protip: The loose-leaf version brews really well in a coffee-press, and it's easy to add chunky fruit and things to it for flavors.

I really like this tea! A coworker recommended it and I'm glad I took her advice.The tea tastes fantastic on its own. I don't add any sweetener to it. After drinking it, I feel more awake and alert, but I don't get jittery or crash as I would with something like an energy drink. I have anxiety, so I have to be sure to not ingest things that will aggravate my condition; this tea works well for me. I've tried another flavor (cinnamon & lemongrass, I think it's called?) and that one tastes great, too.I've got my sister drinking this tea at work now to give her an extra boost when she needs it. If you're like us and can't deal with the taste or smell of coffee, give this a shot for a tasty pick-me-up!Thanks for reading! It really is almost like drinking a cup of coffee in the morning...but much more of a mellow buzz. I like the taste, it's sweet and grassy, but very mild. It's supposed to be really healthy, though I wouldn't buy into all the hype about that because of the lack of empirical research. What I DO know is that it does a great job of keeping you up, while not overly stimulating you. I took a star off because it's not quite as strong as coffee....but it really does work.Note: I've heard it affects your dreams (more realistic and lucid) and it might be placebo effect, but i've been dreaming like crazy since I started drinking this stuff! (it's been about a week).

Love, LOVE, L-O-V-E this tea. OMG. I can't be without it, EVER. I drink it with RAW ORGANIC honey. The 2go hand in hand AMAZINGLY. I mean I go thru jars of raw honey & boxes of THIS, like it's going out of style. And I have an extremely sensitive pallet & taste buds, so I am BEYOND "Picky" ...BEYOND. So for ME to like THIS??? It HAS TO BE/MUST BE absolutely DIVINE. It's so smooooooth & deliciiiiiiiious & simply deliiiiiiiiiiightful. I can NOT get ENOUGH of it. It's part of My DAILY life. It keeps Me focused, on my toes BUT relaxed ALL@the SAME time. PLUS it's extremely GOOD FOR YOU!! Super high in POLYPHENOLS/ANTIOXIDANTS, has 15 ESSENTIAL AMINO acids AND contains Clorogenic acids for heart health, healthy blood pressure, regulates body weight & ECT& ECT & ECT. So a TEA that is THIS delicious AND this GOOD for YOU???? UN-BELIEVABLE!! It's NOW a DAILY staple in MY house. LITERALLY. And I'm a Guayusa Lover for LIFE!

I got it for energy. I did not notice any energy difference at all. It tastes good and I love tea, but I probably won't buy again because of the price. Could me just me, so it's worth at least a one time buy to see if it works for you.

I have a 2013 Golf R and installed this product last summer. I mounted mine with velcro next to the battery box in less than an hour. It is a very high quality, made in Germany "plug-in" tuning box. I had it dyno tested and at the lowest setting it proved 20% Horsepower and Torque increase. I further tested it on a closed road and what you will notice is the car runs with much more response and reaches the max speed limiter much quicker. Once you learn the location of the plug-ins, it is easy to install and un-install in 5-10 mins. This is a huge benefit when you take your car in for dealer service, you'll never have to be concerned over voiding the warranty, once removed, it is is not detectable. I would highly recommend this product for somebody who is looking for safe performance increase, especially during the warranty period. I think it is a much better option than going to tuning shop with a brand new car and jeopardizing the warranty, it's safe, simple and fun. Highest Ratings with excellent human support !

I am so glad I discovered this tea! I am sensitive to caffeine, and this tea was recommended to me as an alternative, although it does have a little naturally occurring caffeine. To minimize the effect of a caffeine, I boil a large pot of water, and I steep only one bag in it. I then refrigerate it and use it as iced tea. It's just the right amount of caffeine for me so that it doesn't make me nervous, yet it gives me the little energy boost that I need. And the taste is really delicious! It's not at all bitter, and it doesn't need any sweetener. I would really recommend this tea to anyone whether you are sensitive to caffeine or not. On top of it, this is a fair trade item. I feel good about buying it.

this tea tastes sooo good. i really was expecting it to taste like grass, but it is suprisingly pleasant. ill have to buy more. took a bit long to arrive though. worth the price

I find green tea too bitter so this is great.
