Q: Does it have an odor?

No. Not that I've noticed and I have been using it regularly for quite some time now. It helps with my knees and back.

Q: In one section it says it's 24 X 10 and in another 14 x 10. which is correct ?

I just measured it to be sure.... It's 10 inches wide by 23 and 1/2 inches long. It fits across the mat almost perfectly. I love it. Use it for my knees and back.

Q: Could this also double as a head mat?

It could. It is thinker and somewhat less firm than a yoga mat though
