This is a 64 cardgame...for $20.00. Why so expensive?

Because it's made by a small company and not by a corporation. This isn't just a deck of playing cards where someone had to design 4-16 pictures that got recolored and copied, this is a deck of 64 hand drawn unique cards. The artists deserve to get paid, as do the people who put the effort into conceptualizing the gameplay, and the people who physically produced the cards and the box. If you think $20 for 64 cards is expensive then don't ever try to buy a tarot deck.

It's advertised 2-6 players, how well does it actually play with just 2 players?

It's better with 3-4 players, but it's still good with just 2. With two there is a little less strategy and a little more luck. Lots of fun either way though.
