I've always used the BD pen needle tips because there's no skin tearing or excessive bruising thanks to the way their tips are made, but unfortunately Amazon and other retailers now require a prescription for that brand. My insurance doesn't cover injectable meds or supplies, so I had to find a replacement. I was worried that these pen needles wouldn't be as smooth or precise and I was pleasantly surprised! They're super smooth, don't hurt, and the insulin flows through freely, allowing the insulin pen to do its job without having to hold the button for as long - avoiding the inevitable painful wiggle that can happen with open needles that aren't made well.These pen needles are every bit as good as the higher priced brand names and better than most. If you haven't yet tried these, you should. Great value, comfortable needle tips that don't damage the skin, and packaged so that they're sterile. Highly recommend!

I had tried CareTouch pen needles before, in a 31g 6mm, and I didn't care for them all that much. Not terrible, but not great. I was going to refill my BD pen needles, but found that they were going to be significantly more expensive than I used to pay, so I decided to give this style a shot. I wanted to try the 4mm needles anyway, and at the price I figured there wasn't much risk in trying them out.I'm really glad I did! I don't know how much the process has changed since the last box of CareTouch needles I bought, but before I even opened a needle to try it, I was much more impressed with the outer and inner caps than before. They are now a nice, clear plastic, and the issue with flash at the end of the outer cap is no longer present either, so I can stand the cap up after removing it. The inner cap over the needle is also colored, I assume based on the length of needle purchased. These were green, and they fit snugly over the tip.As for function, these seem to fit much better on the end of my Lantus Solostar and Novolog FlexPen than the older ones did, so they were already off to a good start. Then I used them for my injection and was really glad I gave them a try. I'm not sure if these are better lubricated than the older CareTouch needles I had bought, if they were sharper, or if the difference in gauge (32g vs 31g) really made that much difference, but I barely even felt the needle enter my skin. The flow of medicine was comparable to the 31g BD needles as well. Finally, after placing the cap back over the needle to remove it, I found that they stayed secure enough to remove the needle without issue which was yet another big improvement over the last time I tried CareTouch needles.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product, and will -definitely- be ordering them again when I need to restock. I ordered these for my 10 year old daughters Norditropin injector pens. Previously we started with Novotwist needles (32g x 4mm). We are not able to get those from our pharmacy anymore so I then tried out ordering on Amazon the Novofine 31g x 5mm. Those were terrible. The needles 9 out of 10 times would be difficult to remove from the pen and I would have to use my teeth to grab onto the outer edge to get it off the injector. There were also numerous times I opened a brand new needle to find it was bent inside of the cap already. The quality of those were terrible and my 10 year old didn't like the difference in the gauge and mm either as she said it hurt more than her other needles. So onto the next needles to try. Went back to looking for a 32g at a decent price online. Found these ones at a price that cannot be beat. Our insurance copay is higher than the cost of ordering these from Amazon. Quickly received the box with 2-day prime and we have found our new needle brand now. I like that these needles screw onto the injector just as our original Novotwist needles did as well. My daughter was a little nervous trying another new needle after the previous Novofine needles she said hurt, but these she didn't feel a thing she said. This product is affordable and easy to use. It fit my pins perfectly. Glad I found these.

I use these on my Lantus and Humalog pens; both fit well. I was using the BD green Nano, and have also tried the 32g Novofine. The main differences I would mention is that on the BD the needle tip is cut on a more gradual taper than these. So I do feel a bit more of a prick with these. Not enough pain to upset me or anything. But I can feel the difference. Maybe slightly more bruises than before but really not a lot. The other thing, if you're cheap like me, or in a pinch, you might reuse needles... though you're not really supposed to.. I don't advise reusing these. They dull perceptibly after the first use. Versus the BD needles I can reuse a couple times and feel no difference. Again, I know you aren't supposed to reuse them so really it's a good thing because I wont reuse these due to that and they're cheap enough that I don't mind them being one and done. But if you're someone who likes to reuse them you'll probably notice this if you try it.Overall a good value, good price, minimal discomfort.
