ESSEyewear Ice 3LS Eyeshield Kit, Black

I have used ESS safety glasses all my professional life as a safety engineer. Even though work provided all safety gear meeting all OSHA standards, I chose to purchase these safety glasses that meet the MIL standard. They have protected my eyes form flying particles very efficiently, are easy to ware, have great peripheral protection, stylish, and have interchangeable lenses. I highly recommend them, you will not go wrong purchasing them.

The glasses look sleek and feels like quality. You can shape the frame tips according to your ear and pull in/out the length. The temple swing feels sturdy as does the material. You get a case, a microfiber cloth with some kind of anti-fog impregnation coating agent, smoke and yellow glass as well as manual and a strap band to secure glasses to the head. Now I received from Amazon what was supposed to be new somebody else had scratched the clear glass on some parts probably trying to remove the frame which is where the problem comes.Removing the frame as shown in the manual is near impossible since you need to apply tremendous force to make the 2 plastic pins one each side pop out of the groove. I found the easiest solution to put the glasses upside down on a soft clean and thin towel and then put my whole thumb in the glass to temple area and with my index fingerat the end of the frame take a grip and push hard while the other hand handles the middle section holding it. You really need apply great force.To make it worse putting the frame back is even worse. The force you need is enough to start cutting your fingers due to skin being damaged by pure force not sharp edges. Solution is to put it on a hard table with a microfiber cloth underneath. Then a fiber cloth on top where you are going to push to save your from bleeding fingers (I got 2 cuts learning this). Make sure the frame pins are aligned to the glass holes. Now wiggle softly while pressing with force and it will click or just slowly make its way into position.The nose support part was a easy though and required little force. So due to the modular system I give it 3 stars else it would have been 5 since I got it for roughly 40 Euros. Would I have paid 100 Euros I would have given 2 points.Also if you have soft cotton gloves use them as you will avoid getting finger prints all over the glass and avoid pressure wounds on fingers.

Vorrei ricordare che chi compra questa versione con 3 lenti, con 20€ può comprare il kit di di astine originale così da avere un altro paio di occhiali di alta gamma a prezzo irrisorio. Per rispondere alla recensione di michele che lamenta di avere le astine larghe, guarda che sono modellabili. Le pieghi a tuo piacimento. Basta leggere le istruzioni ;)
