Dog just doesn't like it.
Update: we had this bed for 1.5 years now and none of the 4 dogs that we had in our home in that time wanted to use it. (2 are our own dogs and 2 are dogs that we frequently pet-sit). They really rather sleep anywhere else and all try to score a spot on an ancient cheap dog bed that we have. At this point I'm thinking there must be something wrong with it. I found a video on YouTube where the company demonstrates how to convince a dog with treats to use the bed. With a good bed that should not be necessary. On the plus side: bed still looks like new.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I had the same problem as others here: the bed seems sturdy and of good quality but our 13 year old Labrador just doesn't like it. He rather sleeps on the floor next to it than on it. I bribed him with treats to try it but he couldn't get off fast enough once the treats stopped coming. The memory foam supports a 200 lbs person easily and that might be the problem. For a 100 lbs dog it might just feel too hard. (I can only speculate since I can't ask him). The material feels cool to the touch, which was the reason I ordered this one instead of the Big Barker. We live in Florida and I was afraid that pure memory foam would get too hot. However, in combination with the not-so-cozy material of the cover it might not be comfortable enough for him (his old bed has a soft quilted cover, I wish they offered more options). I assume different dogs just have different preferences but the real problem is that you can't return this one easily if your dog doesn't like it. The seller will issue an RMA but warns that "there must be absolutely no hair, dust or soil of any kind" for them to accept it back. The cover stains VERY easily and showed spots after our boy was on it for just 2 minutes. I could wipe those off fairly easily but I would have had to pay for the return shipping cost plus the original shipping cost ($33) and it would also have been difficult to shrink the bed again and get it back into the box. Then I worried that they'll reject the return because they might find a hair on it. So in the end I decided to keep it and possibly sell it myself. Now I'm out $280. Lesson learned: don't buy expensive dog beds over the Internet if you can't return them easily.

nice bed but not without problems
as far as comfort and support for my senior chocolate lab, we are happy with the product. What we are not happy with is the washable cover. The first time we removed the cover for washing we had an issue with the zipper when putting the cover back on. The zipper pull went past the end of the zipper and ended up detaching completely. So the next time we wash the cover we will have to have a new zipper sewn on. Dont know what that will cost but I know it wont be cheap.

Superior Quality!
I bought this for my adult Labrador retriever. It's a great size for her; she can stretch out or curl up without anything hanging off! The bed arrived compressed, as stated in the description. I was surprised at how quickly it "fluffed" up; maybe 5-10 minutes max. The quality is wonderful! I laid on it and think the comfort and support rival my own $1000 mattress. Despite being the larger size, it is surprising lightweight, and allows one to simply pick up and move to different rooms if desired. I thought the microfiber cover would be a hair-magnet, but surprisingly it is not, I just use the vacuum or a sticky roller once a week or so and it looks brand new. Only complaint--I paid extra for 2 day shipping and it took almost a week to arrive. Their customer service did respond quickly and kindly reimbursed me $20, but considering I paid $50-60, it fell short. HOWEVER, if you are like me and willing to consider spending hundreds of dollars on a bed for your dog--this is the bed!

3 years old
This bed is 3 years old & We are sending it to retirement. We have an overweight lab with bad bones and this best handled her for better or worse, but finally its kicking the dust. Its sinking to the floor, so she's not comfortable & she has a hard time standing, and the cover has shrunk a little bit after washing... or the bed has expanded so its actually really hard to get the bed back into the cover. Only one cover so its not the easiest but it was expected.

Would not buy again
I have purchased at least twenty dog beds in my lifetime. While i can't really find fault neither one of our Dog's lie on it. I would not buy again. So sorry i cant put my finger on a problem other than it may be too firm and the cover is easily stained and does not wash out easily. My Wife says it has a strange smell and that is why our Dog's would severe arthritis would rather lie on the hardwood floors than the bed

Happy napping GSP!
My senior GSP absolutely loves his new bed and I'm thrilled! The quality of the material is extremely high, it's well constructed - seams, zipper, bolster, etc..., and I'm really pleased with the memory gel foam material. There is no unpleasant odor, the bed came vacuum packed and per the manufacturer instructions was normal size within 30 minutes. I'm now looking at some of the manufacturers items for myself as well.I gave it 5 stars because of the quality to the price, it's not inexpensive however it's on par with other manufacturers for this size & style (orthopedic dog bed). Additionally it's made in the USA with natural, low VOC materials which are better for everyone including my pet!

Lucky Dog Gel Memory Foam Orthopedic Bed
I think this is a good bed, but it is pretty solid and hard. My girl weighs 105-110 lbs. and has hip dysplasia. She won't stay on it for very long. Best use would be for heaviest breeds. Too hard and unyielding for my Golden, but in fairness she has hip problems.

This bed's cover has a good, suede-like feel
Firm, even support from edge to edge. It took him a while to figure out what it was for, but my dog has taken to resting his head upon the bolster; elevated.I always preferred the faux-lambskin cover of previous beds I've bought, but they were impossible to keep clean. This bed's cover has a good, suede-like feel, yet is easy to vacuum and keep clean. Have not owned it long enough to have washed it, so I don't have any feedback yet on that.My older, large dog loves this bed and, therefore, I do too.
