My work used to give out badges if you had great customer reviews or if other associates wrote a great comment about you etc. 3 badges and you got 50.00$, 3 more (6) you got 60.00$, 3 more (9) you got 90.00 and 3 more (12) you got a really great watch. Because a cashier used her customer's receipts to give praise to herself, she got over 24 badges and a watch, a tablet and other stuff (until she was caught defrauding the company) so now, badges are a rarety (and I was missing 3 to get my 350.00 watch) so, I decided to get my own. After a lot of research and pondering, I happened upon this one. I saw specialty watches for divers and thought (I'm a pilot, why not an aviator watch) and presto... This is the one for me. It looked heavy (I'm not a small person) and a really nice look to it and, it had 18 carat gold ion plated (very very thin plate but it's etched into the metal) and heavy stainless steel. The gold color looked hot (even if I'm particular to silver) and the band looks heavy. It all looked great till the day I actually received it and... WOW!!!! Better looking than the pictures. I played with the 1/10th second, second, minute timer and it's interesting. When you reset the timer, the dials spin backwards to it's 0 positions. There's a function that you can set the timing dials to whatever position you want and lock it there so that when it resets, it returns to that particular position - What use that function is, I don't know. The minute dial is hard to read since it moves only slightly. You can easilly read it at 10 minute increments and it counts to 60 minutes. Negatives: You need to send it to an authorized dealer to change the battery. I'm in Canada and there are no dealers here. The closest is in New York state. Sending it there would cost more than the battery. This is to keep the warrantee. Someone I know has 6 Invicta watches, one of which was 1000.00 and when something broke, it would cost him 80% of the price of the watch to cover the warrantee. Some people have complained about the crown comming out (and I can see why cause the pull out the first click, it's hard to tell so you have to be gentle to figure it out) and if you thought you were at the 1st click, you were actually at the second so if you pulled even harder to get what you thought was the second click, you could essentially over pull and break it. Fortunately, my watch only cost 130.00 and If it needs fixing, it would go to a jeweler near me. The person who had to get his 1000.00 watch fixed had a jeweler put in a different watch insert instead. All in all, if you live close to an Invicta dealer, you're all set. Otherwise, treat the watch as a fragile instrument and it should be fine.
