Excellent 1.09Ghz but poor 978Mhz
Very good performance at 1090Mhz as advertised. I had hoped to also see decent results at 978Mhz but nosuch luck. VSWR at 1090 = 1.2183:1 VSWR at 978 = Off the charts (ranged out at >20:1).Quality control during packaging is a little lackluster. The first one I received had the mounting hardware for some other antenna in the box. Amazon sent me a replacement that had the correct mounting hardware. Both antennas tested similarly on my LibreVNAI'm using it with a RTL2832U (RTL-SDR) on Raspberry Pi 4 8GB running the adsbexchange raspbian image.

Great antenna
These work very well on my RTL-SDR/RPI. On a 20 FT pole receives data 75-80 miles away

A good Collinear antenna.
I was getting about 150 miles from my existing antenna above the roof outside. This antenna easily gave me 200 miles and better coverage low on the horizon.

Didn't know my Harry Potter magic ADSB wand wouldn't work.
I have been running a virtual radar for a number of weeks with a hand made ground plane type antenna. Thought that I would upgrade the experience by putting a gain antenna in the system. Received the antenna - looks great, everything went together well, but the antenna is completely deaf. No matter how many times I waved it and said virtuous radar expecto, it failed to meet even the basic function of receiving a signal on my SDR.I live on top of a hill with a commanding view of the sky and my $1.50 hand built non-gain antenna can receive signals nearly 100 miles away. This antenna couldn't pick up a 777 within 5 miles of my house.I hope that this is not indicative of the quality of this antenna generally - I live outside the US and returning this product is not an option as I have already paid for shipping and duty. Sad because the item looks great and is well built - just that the innards aren't particularly useful.

can be used.
The antenna is good, the added cable sucks.

Not impressed with receive ability.
When I went looking for an ADB-S antenna I came across this one and saw the NooElec name and since I have owned several of their RTL-SDRs over the years I decided to give it a shot. It arrived and I replaced my homebrew 66mm ground plane antenna on my 20ft mast with the NooElec 7db vertical antenna. antenna. Mounting hardware adequately secured the antenna to the mast.Once on the mast, I started testing the antenna to see how the traffic reception was and I was unimpressed. As you can see in the attached images the range was cut way down and there was only a couple of aircraft even decoded – there were numerous aircraft in the area according to an adjacent site that I used as a reference point.I have had many different antennas for various purposes as an avid amateur radio operator and by far this has got to be the worst of them given the characteristics that were claimed and the actual results.BLUF: Save your money and buy a more reputable antenna this one is essentially a dummy load or better yet just make you a quick simple homebrew.Jeremy D – W1BO

Terrible performance
Built a better antenna by stripping some RG6 to 69mm and jamming some 69mm strips of copper wire down the shielding jacket. This was tested on my 20 foot mast.
