Calais Chrome/Blue Ballpoint Pen

Great pen. Quality made. Love the style. I have owned cross pens for many years and this is as good as any I have owned.

If there is one thing that's a must for my wife, it is having a pen she can count on. It has to look classy, feel good in the hand, write easily with skips or smudges, and be built to last. The Cross Calais is all of those things. It comes packaged in a handsome box and can be engraved if you want to spend a little more, making it ideal for gift giving. It has a higher price point than some other more basic pens that write really well too, but it should last a lifetime and is actually quite a bit less than many high end writing instruments. The satin chrome finish feels good in the hand as does the wide barrel -- allowing for more effortless writing. The satin has a bit of tooth to it and diminishes the appearance of finger prints. The nib pops out with a twist and stays put until purposely retracted. As digital as our world is, I still enjoy having a weighted pen to write with, even if just jotting lists and notes. Cross consistently makes good products for this purpose. I have had both pens for years - reliable.

Wonderful writing pen. Cross is one of my favorite brand of writing instruments. The only negative factor about this purchase was that the ink ran out within a couple of days.

great pen for the $30. Have multiple. Ink cartridges easy to find and replace. Solid, clean design. Smooth operation. Nice weight and feel. Very durable.

Looks nice and new. Can't tell how it writes, given that there was no ink in the pen or the box. I am keeping the pen because it was a good deal, and I plan to buy refills. However, given that the condition was noted as "Used - Mint," it is ridiculous that this was not checked. UPDATE: The ballpoint pen refills I bought have arrived, and the pen writes like a charm. Still irritated with the lack of attention regarding the sale.
