is this talalay or dunlop latex?

Thanks for the interest!Our foam is made through the Dunlop process. We use the dunlop process because we believe dunlop process foam works better for more people. Some people do have a preference for Talalay process foam, but many do not like the "bouncy" feel of talalay foam. While Dunlop foam is springy, it is not "bouncy" like talalay foam, and in our experience, works better for more people.To just be clear, we use only natural latex in our foam. We never use any synthetic latex in any of our foam.

Which firmness would you recommend for a side sleeper with sciatica and hip pain?

Side sleepers are usually best with Soft toppers, which are most effective at adding plenty of comfort and softness at 2 and 3 inch thicknesses. If you're hoping to add plenty of give and "forgiveness" to your bed, while gently carrying your hips far above a firm surface, the 3" Soft is definitely the best tool for the job.

None of the latex toppers are "cushy" in the sense that you won't sink like you would with memory foam or plush poly-fill. The descriptions provided b the manufacturer of the differences between each thickness (1" , 2" , or 3" ) is very spot-on, though. So when applied to firmness: I have a firm latex Saatva bed, then put a 1" cushy memofoam topper on that and added a 2" soft latex topper over that to provid support (no sinking). I weigh 110lbs, am in a wheelchair, and have ongoing neuropathic pain. I feel no discomfort from my bed; it is heaven in comparison to my previous "before" bed, which was plush and perfect until I got my chair and couldn't bear any sinking at all. But the latex allows softness without mush. It's tough to explain until you try it. I purchased directly from SleepOnLatex and was able to free exchange for the appropriate product

Is the latex made in the USA?

Thanks for the interest! Our Pure Green latex foam is manufactured in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has a long standing natural latex foam industry which has developed around the availability of natural latex, harvested from rubber trees grown on the island. Choosing to sell foam made in Sri Lanka has much more to do with quality than price. While we would love to sell foam that is made in the USA, there simply are not any manufacturers in the USA who can match the quality of the foam we currently sell. Most of the latex foam that you will find that is made in the USA is made through the continuous line process, which yields a significantly lower quality product.

I bought this latex mattress topper about 6 weeks ago. I wanted it for relief of pressure points, so I got the 2" soft. It's perfect for me. I am lighter weight, about 125 lbs, and many mattresses and toppers feel too firm to me. I had bought some other "soft" toppers that were "soft" only because they had no substance and I went right through them and hit the mattress. This soft topper is soft, but there is also enough substance to it that I don't sink through to the mattress underneath. Somehow it is both soft and supportive. I had a memory foam topper that I couldn't sleep on because it trapped body heat and I would wake up very hot. This topper does not sleep hot. It is not cooling, but it's not hot. It's neutral. I did get the luxury cotton cover, and I highly recommend it. The quality is absolutely worth it. I think the topper would be difficult to manage and move and keep clean without it. I will mention that this was the first time I have slept on latex, and it did take about a week to get used to it. But now it's the most comfortable topper I've ever used. I consider this to be one of my best purchases!

Perfect for softening a firm mattress

We bought the 2” soft and it made the ultra firm orthopaedic mattress in our rental unit soft enough for stomach/side sleepers. Can’t recommend enough!!

Best topper ever

After investing in expensive memory foam topper it hurt my back, so I decided to give latex topper a try and omg the difference. It is squishy but it bounce back, so support is there and no more sweat because it stay cool. Don’t hesitate to give it a try
