Q: Does this polish turn black as you work it in, as Mother's polish does ?

yes it will turn black and you need to have a good supply of clean rags to remove the residue ( I like to cut up old terry cloth bath towels ) and whatever kind of polish you are using put the rags in a large zip lock bag and put a generous amount of common baking flour on the rags to absorb the residue, I have owned two Airstream travel trailers and have not found a product that is a match or equal in quality to the Met-All. if you read the instructions on the lid of the can it will instruct you to start with a medium grade of Steal Wool and progress to a finer (such as 002 or less) this is not just a polish or cleaner you will find it to be a protective film that will stay bright and clean for many months.... 9

Sorry no clue. What color was the table when you rubbed the Met/All off? Was the black finish an oxidation or paint or ?

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm new to maintaining a trailer. Is this a cleaner and wax? (are wax and polish the same thing?)
