Do you put 3.5 lbs of pellets in the box once a month or more or less?

You probably would need the whole bag to cover the pan but you don't have to change the litter very often. I have one cat, I just keep adding litter on top as needed and only have to change the whole box every 6-8 weeks. I get the 7 pound bags, use part of it, then add more as needed. It doesn't hold the smell, so doesn't need to be changed out often.
