Yes, this size fits most horses of cob size or Quarter Horse - is quite adaptable with three points of adjustment. The Dually Training Halter designed by Monty, is a patented schooling halter which effectively rewards horses for acting in partnership with the handler. For standard horses from 600 to 1250 pounds as well as large ponies, e.g. Icelandic or Hackneys. Nose- Minimum 23 in (58,4 cm), Maximum 31 in (78,7 cm) Head- Minimum 37 in (94 cm), Maximum 45 in (114,3 cm) Cheek – From Ring – Ring 7.5 in (19 cm) The size of the head matters more in fitting a Dually than the weight of the horse

Q: Would this be a good training aid for a horse that likes to bite and nip, assuming that the biting is behavioral?

Its better suited for ground work and schooling the horse for specific things. For biting it’s recommended you tap their shins with your foot to deliver a physical correction to a different area of the body. If the correction occurs around the mouth then it could encourage biting.

Q: Could this be used as a bitless halter? currently i use a western bridle and snaffle with loose curb chain. would i be able to keep control using it

It can be used as a bitless bridle, however you need to ensure that your horse is responsive prior to using this as requested. If you'd like help on the use of the halter, one of Monty's Certified Instructors can go over how to use the halter in further detail.
