Excellent results with this system
I honestly am not sure what the magic is about this that gives me such amazing sprouts, but I have my suspicion. I was using large glass mason jars with decent success before this, but purchased this because I'm thinking of traveling and wanted a travel sprouter ... I came across their Youtube videos which helped me a lot to understand the importance of the circular or centrifugal motion action when rinsing (I hadn't heard that before) and also draining really well. One thing I do different is I rinse only once a day because once I did that by accident and I liked the results. (They grow just as well this way if not better, for me.) I think this sprouter gives me such strong and vibrant sprouts because of I am always rinsing from the tap (the pressure of the water seems to benefit the sprouts), and then swirling and spinning the sprouts several times per rinse (apparently they like this action, too), then draining very well (feeling the bottom to make sure no more water comes out). The combo of these actions is a winner...the sprouts grow fast and sturdy, with little waste, and with less effort than the mason jar. I also like the size of this jar, compared to the larger mason jars. Everyone says that you should spread out the seeds so they are not piled on one another, but with this system, that does not hinder their growth, I think because of the previous reasons. I highly recommend this system to anyone who wants a foolproof sprouting system! I've tried mason jars, stacking trays and more....I can say for sure this is by far the easiest, best, most foolproof, least wasteful.

Much more convenient than typical glass-jar based sprouting
This is a great product! Well worth the nominal investment. Fast, easy, and ,so far, foolproof (after 4 batches). I just bought a 2nd unit to facilitate a round-robin cycle of sprouting. The unit holds a copious 2 cups of fresh wheat berries that sprout within of the cup, when used to make rejuvalac. The sprouts are ready one day or so immediately following one 8-12 hour soak, when left in a not too cold room.No rinsing required for wheat berries (and purportedly several other grains/seeds) with this product! That's thanks to its thermo-convective design that uses the heat of the sprouting seed to cycle fresh air through it, which resists rotting. I'm working through a book on making vegan cheeses that use rejuvelac as the culturing agent. The book's instructions on making rejuvelac suggests a glass jar, left it in a draining position (awkward) and rinsing the berries a couple of times a day. That's a hassle compared to this product, which sits upright, and instructs a technique of just soaking the wheat berries all day or overnight, draining, and letting them sit until sprouted.Be aware that instructions are woefully remiss about clarifying how to achieve that convective configuration. They mention something about the inner cup sitting higher in the outer cup , leaving one scratching one's head about how to make that happen. It is simply achieved it by rotating the inner cup to align the vertical ridges on its rim with corresponding tabs on the inner-rim rim of the outer cup. The tabs on the outer cup lift the inner cup up in that position, in such a way as to make the inner cup sit about 1/2" above the outer one, leaving the necessary air gap for convection. Easy, solid and clever. If not rotated to the correct orientation, the inner cup will sit flush with the outer cup and impede air circulation substantially. That's the 'soak' position, not the 'sprout' position.

LOVE my Easy Sprout!
I’m fairly new to sprouting — I tried to sprout something in normal canning jars a few years ago, my very first batch got super moldy and I swore off sprouting until a couple of months ago when I heard of this.I just grew my first batch of sprouts, from start to finish it was about 4 or 5 days for a leafy variety. I really appreciate the instructions that came with the sprouter (most sprouting seeds come with their own instructions but Easy Sprout provides a nice comprehensive guide for growing in their sprouter specifically, which is great!)Pros:The guide is very easy to followIt’s ready to use right out of the box!The insert for smaller seeds is great, I can use one sprouter for growing various varieties of seeds.Excess water drains out into the bottom cup’s reservoir, so the sprouts aren’t ever sitting in it.Comes with two lids so you can also store your sprouts in it. (I haven’t done this, but it’s a nice touch.)Cons:The fact that the dome top just sits on the lip of the cup instead of snapping on seems like a weird design flaw that never got fixed. It’s secure when it’s inverted into the cup, but once the sprouts reach a certain height and it won’t fit inside anymore, it just feels precarious sitting on top of the cup like it does.Speaking of the sprouts reaching a certain height, I feel like the 1/4 to 1/2 cup recommendation for unsprouted salad variety seeds is way too much. I put 3.5 tbsp of seeds in mine and it grew to the point that it was difficult to rinse & break up the mass without sprouts spilling over the edge of the cup. Next time I’ll try 2tbsp and see if that works better! All in all, the Easy Sprout is a super useful tool when it comes to sprouting. It’s a must-have for people like me who have had trouble in the past, and even experienced sprouters will appreciate its ease of use!
