The instructions are clear. The fit is great. The price is too high. The American way. Really though. The filter is attached by pressure fitting into a slot under the main intake and a fin in the near back of the air filter box. The stock filter uses the same setup. Lots of people here have complained that the fit is bad. If your filter box is warped or melted or something, you're right, the fit will be wonky. Mine went in with just fine. Follow the instructions and use the gasket grease. I am so dang happy to not be using the stupid oily foam anymore I cant see straight. Having a filter that you can use water to wash out is fantastic. I was replacing the foam filters every oil change because they are so poorly built that they tear and seams give out. K&N hasn't let me down yet. There are tests that show that the K&N let in slightly coarser particulates than paper or oil filters, but compare that to the size of exhaust particulates. Guess what? Little to no difference. So the debate of whether or not these filters are safe for your engine is really up to you, but for me, I've had one on my truck for 13 years, going strong. I'm happy with it.
