Love it
Am a huge fan of Joseph Joseph and this jug is another reason why I am. The ergonomic design is great with clearly written numbers and the smaller jug is a handy bonus. Highly recommended.

I like the style of the jug.
To go with all my Joseph Joseph index in my kitchen.

Large capacity, easy read
The great thing about this jug is the scales are read from the inside as you look down, so as you fill it you can see without having to peer in from the side. It is lightweight and made to a good quality. It is cumbersome to store, would benefit from a hanging attachment, but the small measure slotted in is a good idea.

10/10 for this clever product!
I know, it’s a measuring jug…… But this is a really clever design, very well-made, and a super addition to the kitchen. We have quite a lot of Joseph Joseph products, the vast majority of which are superbly made, innovative, and a little quirky (in a good way) – this is now one of them. We, like probably many others, have the ubiquitous plastic measuring jugs, which whilst good and functional, are difficult to accurately see the level of water / milk etc; the markings being difficult to see. Not so with this one, brilliant markings that can be seen clearly from the inside or outside. No more holding up in front of you, trying to get the light right so you can see the markings.Another clever feature is that you can pour conventionally, or from the sides (both), which is surprisingly useful. The additional little measuring jug (for very small amounts) that sits in the main jug is a brilliant touch. Ergonomically, this is superb all-round product.Upon initial look, I was dreading the label removal. The jug has 2 x large descriptive adhered labels. So often, you end up with gooey residue, the only way to remove being with white spirit. Nope, not these, they peeled off easily, completely, in one piece – well done, JJ!All in all, this is brilliant product, very clever design, and in my view well worth the (not cheap) price. It would be nice if there was a 2 litres option as well, but that’s a minor preference (we like to have one of each) Love this!I hope you have found this helpful.

cracked
brilliant design, but it cracked at the first sign of boiled water. not sure if this is a glitch with my one or a design flaw.

Read the specifications!
I’ve bought similar jugs like this before and love the design. Little disappointed that this Joseph Joseph one isn’t suitable for the microwave (or dishwasher). It’s not listed on the specifications within Amazon listing, but stated on their website.

Not great, disappointing
I love JJ items usually, they’re solid and reliable, but this jug is rubbish. The base cracked initially and it cracked up 3 sides too. This was from normal use, it gets used for gravy, mixing stock and shocking eggs. It never went in the microwave but I heard it crack as I put the hot water in for gravy.Had this for 3 months but the damage occurred very quickly.

Nice Jugs.
To me this set of jugs is as useful, if not more so than the ubiquitous Pyrex jug. [With a few caveats]First the description of what you get.You get two clear plastic jugs, the larger of the two holds & measures up to 4 cups, 1000 ml, 1¾ pints or 32 fl.oz. The Smaller one holds & measures up to 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, 50 ml or 2 fl.oz. The smaller jug nestles into the larger & is help in place via a push fit which joins their handles. Now the pros & cons.PROS: -*Nice & clear to see through with a slightly "frosted" finish as a background on the volume readouts to let you read them off better.*Slanted reading area, this allows you to either read from above as you're pouring things in or from the sides. The former is much better than the Pyrex jugs where you have to crouch down to read through the sides.*The scales are on the inside. As they are on the inside you are reading directly how much fluid is in there, on that "other" brand I mention they are outside so you are reading through the glass which can diffract the level depending on how you look at it.*Grippy handle, nice grippy handle even when your hands are wet. The handle is also as tall as the jug meaning that it touches the work-surface when put down, gives extra stability if you slosh liquid into it a bit forcefully.*Shape. Though its a slanted cuboid in shape the edges are rounded so if measuring something quite viscous you can get a spatula into all the corners to get it all out again. Plus it makes cleaning afterwards a lot easier.*The little jug clips to the big jug, you don't have to go searching for it that way, its always there.*Spout, the spout on this actually pours without spilling [in fact the three non handle corners all do] that carefully measured liquid so ruining a recipe. Unlike a certain glass brand who cant achieve that after some 80 odd years.CONS: -*Cant take the heat. Unfortunately the plastic they've used cant be used for very hot liquids. [So no making your gravy in this one]. They've stated a maximum temp of 70°c/158°f. They also state that it shouldn't be used in the microwave, oven or cleaned in the dishwasher.*Its tough, but possibly more likely to crack than say a tempered glass jug. I like this set so I'm not about to try & crush it & see.*Due to its slanted shape it has a slightly bigger footprint, so if your cupboards/shelves are full you may struggle to fit it in.I quite like the set, find it very useful & easy to read, but I can see the price of £15 & the fact it can't take the heat may be a drawback for some, luckily I'm in a position to own both & I find I use this set more than my old glass one now.
