American Optical pilots sunglasses
bought for frame to install Rx sunglass lenses and that it is mostly made in U.S.A. Well made, sturdy; have another pair which is holding up well, as expected. would buy again.

These are GREAT sunglasses
Great aviators. Every bit as good as Randolph’s but $100 less. I own both. Really impressed with the quality. Go with the glass lenses.

100% equal to the military issue aviator's sunglasses
When I was a cargo pilot, these bayonet temple neutral grey lenses were all I'd wear. The bayonets let you put them on and take them off without removing your huge David Clark "head clamp" or helmet. Cargo aircraft are loud as heck. The neutral grey lenses don't distort color, which is hugely preferable. They're also not polarized, which may sound like a bad thing, but it's just the opposite. A lot of the displays in the cockpit already have polarized glass... and when you mix polarization axis, you get all kinds of unwanted artifacts and dimming. Same goes for the newer video instruments on motorcycles. On the ocean, I do use different (polarized) shades to deal with the lack of contrast and the glare off the water. These aren't really suited for that.I do miss being able to pick up the B&L version of these at a base exchange for 1/3 the cost though.

Great replacement for Bausch and Lomb...
I got a high-priced pair of Bausch and Lomb gradient mirror aviator glasses in 1980. But within a year I had stopped wearing contacts, and so the non-prescription Bausch and Lombs sat in pristine condition and the original case for 35 years until I gave them to my oldest son about five years ago. Of all the things I gave to one son, none were more envied by the other two than those glasses. It's impossible to find their equal today. But with these AO sunglasses I've come as close as I ever will. These are a classic old-time design, with lenses and frames every bit the equal of those old Bausch and Lomb Aviators.Great, beautiful glasses in a case that by itself is cool. My youngest son just saw the case and said, "Cool case. What's in there?" These are retro in the best way--a great product that hasn't changed over the decades.

The best Pilot Sunglasses ever.
AO and Randolf Pilot sunglasses are the best hands down. I started wearing them about 30 years ago. At the time I knew they would eventually go up in price, so I bought a bunch of them. I don't think I ever paid more than $45 bucks for a pair. I still have 5 pair, 3 are new in the box and I wear the other 2 for everyday use. If you can afford them, they are the best.

Overpriced
I bought these in 2016 for $50They have held up amazingly though many drops. Not a scratch on them. Giving them 2 stars for the greedy price gouging. The current version is exactly the same as when I bought them.
