The Charleston Chef's Table: Extraordinary Recipes from the Heart of the Old South Hardcover – December 22, 2009

This cookbook caught my eye because of the beautiful cover photograph of my favorite southern dish (shrimp and grits!) My husband and I just took a trip to Charleston and ate our way through the city, and I have enjoyed reliving the stories, recipes and photos of the famous recipes of some of the star restaurants we tried. This book infuses well-written foodie information with great recipes in a seamless way that is truly enjoyable. I highly recommend it if you want to try cooking these tasty recipes or if you just want a beautiful coffee table calibre book to enjoy.

I am originally from Charleston and really enjoyed seeing the new restaurants mixed with the history of old legends!New recipes intertwined with history and folk lore of the holy city and some Charleston stsples!Great photos too!

This was my husband’s favorite Christmas present. Such interesting stories, history, and recipes from Charleston’s finest restaurants and chefs.

Book was in perfect condition and I received it quickly. The book is beautiful but the recipes are definitely for those with serious skills in the kitchen.

This book is great for those of us that love Charleston and enjoy the many delicious restaurants that are there. It tells a bit of the background of each restaurant and what type of dishes one might expect. As an added bonus, each restaurant offers one of their recipes for us to try at home.

This is a beautiful coffee table book. It has stunning photographs of Charleston SC and recipes from some of its most celebrated restaurants! Most recipes are of a challenging nature, but it is a great source for food ideas and challenges you to selct which restaurant you'd love to visit next!
