Seat too hard
The seat is too stiff and does not give at all. I really wished I had returned it, but thought it would give some after a month and half. But it has not. Would not buy again. I like that it is wide.

Very unhappy
Ripped down the sides on both sides after just a few weeks of use. And I can't get Amazon to help me out to remedy the situation. Very unhappy.

Rest Arms too far apart, good for some that very. Large.
It looks pretty but not practical for a computer desk, the rest arms too far apart, and you cannot adjust it. The site is not comfortable.

Easy to assemble, but cosmetic damage, no tilt adjustment
The HON BASYX Commercial-Grade Hive Designer Task Chair came packed in a single box and the pieces were individually wrapped and separated with some foam and cardboard. The box had maintained some damage during the shipping process. It's unclear if the shipping was the source of the cosmetic damage to the chair itself, or if it came that way from the factory. White paint was chipped off the chair in several visible locations on the arm rests and the base. The upholstery on the back of the chair was improperly secured and I was unable to tuck it back in after some effort. The chair was easy to assemble and the only tool required (an allen wrench) was included. The necessary bolts were provided along with spares and it did not take long, maybe 20 minutes total working alone and carefully. No help was necessary. The instructions were clear, and the left, front, and right hand side of the chair were labelled to avoid any mistakes. The chair itself is not very uncomfortable, but out of the box it has a slight forward tilt in it's default position which makes me feel like I'm going to slide out of it. There were no instructions for adjusting the chair. The seat of the chair can slide forwards and backwards by lifting the left lever, but this did not correct the forward tilt of the seat. The chair also moves up and down with the right lever, and the back can lock into two settings by sliding the right lever in and out - it is either unlocked which allows the back to recline very far back, or slightly locked with a limited reclining motion. I would prefer a third option that fully locks the back in place.Overall the chair is not comfortable or adjustable enough to warrant it's price. The cosmetic damage on this particular chair is also off putting. Paint should not be chipped, and all upholstery should be properly secured. The chair should not have an uncomfortable tilt forward, or it should have an appropriate documented means of correcting that.

An good chair, but overpriced
What first drew me to this chair was its design. The frame of the chair is white (plastic) and the cushions are black fabric. The rollers are also black. The whole design creates a nice, modern looking contrast. The white mesh back is particularly striking. This chair claims to have BIFMA verification, which guarantees comfort and performance in a work environment. I'm not an expert in.. chairs, but I can attest to the fact that this chair is super comfy. The cushion is on the firm side, very comfortable, and the seat is quite large making it easy to find a comfortable position. Since it's made of fabric, it doesn't get as hot as leather, adding to the comfort level. The lumbar support is excellent, there's no back ache even after prolonged use. The seat slides back and forth, adjusting to the user's body and preferred geometry. The arms are adjustable, depending on how high you want them. Of course, the chair can adjust in seating height. There are some negatives as well. Even though the chair can adjust in height, it doesn't go very low. It's a rather "tall" chair, and people 5'2'' or less will need a leg rest. The arm rests don't fall back, if you prefer armless setups or you want to slide your chair all the way under the desk. The only solution is to completely remove the arms. There's also a serious issue with quality of materials or quality control. The base of the chair has paint failures and scratches almost everywhere. Also, the fabric stitching fails and you can see the fabric threads, especially in the corners. I've shown a couple of examples in my pictures. I removed 1 star for that.Overall, this is a nice and very comfortable chair. But the price is way too high for what it offers and the quality control failures. Also, at over $300 you'd expect the chair to have more features, such as fall back arms and larger height adjustment. I feel that a price somewhere between $200-$220 would be more realistic. 1 more star removed for pricing.
