C.H. Yates Rubber 12000 12" Heavy Duty Marine Keel Roller with 5/8" Shaft hole

These were great, needed to add more roller to our boat launch and these worked great.

I have a swing keel sailboat and use no guides on trailer. My old keel roller was made of yellow semi-transparent plastic and had a screw guide which theoretically suppose to work the best, but didn't. Under the water if keel did not find center of roller from first touch, instead of turning the roller toward its center, was rather locking too soft roller to its rod and easy sliding on side thread was guiding boat to wrong position on trailer. Tired of repeated misses, I decided to try another model and this time it worked.This roller is heavier build and has no tendency to hold keel in wrong position. I already have a time to test it several times. Probably, even if for any reason roller gets locked, it will guide the keel to its lowest point on the center, before my boat rests on EZ loader rollers. It works especially well on sailboats equipped with swing keel. I normally lower the keel by few inches to make sure that keel will contact roller before hull rests on trailer. After boat seats firmly on trailer, I can take up the slack on the keel winch or travel with keel seating on the roller.

Good price, quick shipping but the plastic end on the roller was cracked. Didn't notice until after I had it installed. Not sure how well this will hold up long term.

Work like it should

Husband is a consultant at many industrial sites across the country and internationally, installing heavy manufacturing cranes, crane rail systems and mill maintenance. He occasionally needs items like this and Amazon is open 24/7, thus he ends up ordering the odd industrial item like this. He reports it worked well in application. I will update my reviews should he share new info that would seem useful.

Rolls Great, and wide enough to catch the bow of the boat even if you're a little off and guide it to center.

What else to say except it is a roller. It is harder rubber. I've ordered two of these, one of them the white end wasn't on completely and once I pushed it on it hasn't been completely even - such that when you turn it around a rod you can tell a slight wobble. This doesn't affect what it does but is why I marked one star off. Can't beat the price though
