Great purpose built heatsink for LED COBs works perfectly for a 50w LED
If you are getting a bare COB LED light, driverless or not, this unit is a must to keep the light and electronics cool. The lens works great too, with some slight modifications for certain COBs. I could have made a DIY heatsink for less, but the time to drill the correct holes, tap and get screws didn't seem worth $24. The LED I used was a driverless 50w COB chip found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GTMQSFZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I measures the wattage and it's a true 50w. With the fan OFF, the heatsink got quite hot only after a few minutes. Some important things to consider: 1. Use decent thermal paste (has some old Arctic Silver 3 laying around), clean the back of the chip with rubbing alcohol, as well as the heasink surface. Put a thin coat of the paste on the back of the LED chip, spread with a razor or credit card. Mount and secure well with the 4 supplied M3 screws. (they actually supplied 5 of those for some reason). 2. On the back of the small reflector that coems with the lens, there are 4 raised bumps. These align with holes in several COB chips that require a driver. My COB did not have those holes, so I took a razor and shaved the bumps off off. That way it sits flush on the chip. The reflector is plastic, so that's easy. 3. With 12v on the fan, it's LOUD. I used a universal 2A power supply and set it to 7.5v. At 7.5v, the fan is virtually silent but provides enough airflow to keep the heatsink just warm to the touch. I had to do some soldering to make that connection. 4. If you have concerns about glare, get a stainless mixing bowl, cut a 53mm hole in the bottom center, then 4 more holes that line up with the screws that mouth the lens housing. See attached. It looks cool too ;) 5. For hanging the light, I put a string diagonally from one screw to another on the fan grille, then hung from that. Works great! After working with the first one, I went and bought a second. Yes, I would recommend this.

Quality heatsink, with a lens
This heatsink is a must for a 100W LED array, othwise the chip would be destroyed very quickly.

The Aluminium Heatsink & Cooling Fan works great
The Aluminium Heatsink & Cooling Fan was paired with a cob led light source and dissipates the heat well. I substituted a 9volt power source in place of a 12volt to lower the fan noise. It still dissipates the heat with no problem. The fit to the cob led was perfect, be sure to use a little heat-sink compound.

It works in RGBW but not as bright as you would think
Thought it would be brighter

Great unit for microscopes.
Awesome heatsink and COB setup. I used this to replace a metallurgical microscope illuminator and it worked well.

Cools exelently
Put this on my 100 watt lad chip for my reef tank and it cools it perfectly. Keeps the entire unit cool tot he touch and that’s crazy. The led will melt aluminum after 30 seconds without this thing.

It cools a 50 watt COB LED just fine.
As described, with lens and fasteners. Needs a bit of finesse in the mounting/hanging process, but that's the Y in DIY.

Pretty good for under $25
I haven't put a thermal load on it, so I'm not going to comment on performance. However, it seemed to be packaged well. The fan come already mounted on the aluminum heat sink. Holes are pre-drilled and tapped for mounting screws. The inner holes are for mounting the LED and the middle set for mounting the lens bracket. The lens was come wrapped in tissue and foam. There's also a small bag with mounting screws for the lens and LED, which I did not expect. A very welcome surprise. The 24vdc 0.2a fan seems to move a good bit of air. We'll see how it all does once I mount the LED and put a thermal load on it. Overall, I'm please so far.
