Ugly Stik Complete Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Kit

I'm a pretty awful fisherman, but my daughter has wanted to go, so I got her this rod. It's been a great rod so far, and we use it at the nearby lake without any issues. It's light enough that my nine-year-old (who is small for her age) has had zero problems with the weight or size. And she loves the color!We've not had any issues with line tangles (at least, not when she was using it the way she was taught!), and the size makes it portable and easy to carry back and forth from the car. We love this rod, and it was a great purchase.

This is an amazing rod for beginners. I personally use this rod for cat fishing. I use this for cat fishing because I am impressed by the functions on this rod. One of the best fuctions is the portability with the telescopic design it makes it very convenient for me to go fishing. And you may think the durability isn’t good due to other telescopic design are that durable but this ugly stik rod is one of the most durable rod I have you can use this for catfish,carp,bass and even ocean fishing! And the amazing white color makes it more unique since either rod are mostly black these rods are kid friendly for 10-14 year old! I would always use this rod and you guys should buy this!

Great fishing pole And the price was right

I grew up using an Ugly Stik that my father said belonged to him when he was a kid. I'm not sure if it's that old, but I've still got it with a similarly old zebco 33 as a backup. I figured it's probably not the same, but the brand has at least got a decent reputation so I'd give this one a go.I got this for my 10 year old son whose beginner zebco reel gave out. He has decided he's too good a fisherman to use that "kiddie" stuff...opinions on that matter may vary, but he HAS gotten good at casting his old one and could work my spinning reel pretty well, so I got him one he'll feel is adequate for a master like himself.We haven't gone fishing yet, but he's taken it out in the yard to practice and has no issues working the reel to cast or retrieve. I like the rod a lot- the action is good and, being a lighter action than his old rod, I think it'll feel like little fish are bigger. The reel isn't anything fancy, but it works well. The included line isn't what I'd pick, but it will work for now.Overall, I'm not just wowed by this rod/reel combo, but I feel that it's a good value for the money spent. It's definitely suitable for a 10 year old who has a little experience, and it's good/inexpensive enough that I'd consider another one for myself when fishing for stuff under 8 or 10 pounds.

The media could not be loaded. Received this pole for my birthday a few days ago & couldn’t be more happy! 🥹 the color is so pretty, and this pole can cast pretty far in all honesty. I saw some people say that the tip of the pole looked “stripped” of the color. I give this rod 5 stars because of its functionality compared to the price. With that said, this is not a high end rod, but it does work just as good as its $100 - $150 counter parts. I purchased the saltwater version because I primarily target striper this time of year. On the first day I received it, I cast it about 100 times with no issues and caught two stripers (pictures). Again, this is not a high end rod, so don’t expect to preform like its higher end counterparts. However, it does what it is made for. I would recommend changing out the prespooled mono line with braided line for better casting (the picture is with the braided that I had changed out). The mono line it comes with works fine, that’s what I caught the pictured stripper with, but it doesn’t cast very far with mono. It comes with a 7 year warranty on the rod. Also if you don’t like it, then your only out $36. Great backup rod also. Enjoy!

This is a VERY good heavy catfish rod. Strong and durable, plus i love how it retracts inward to fit in the car.This rod is NOT for bass casting, this is more of a fish in a rod holder off the bottom pole because it is pretty heavy and also long - i really like this pole in my fishing stable

Ordered two of these saltwater rod/reel combos for my boys to fish with at the beach. Rod is great - pretty sensitive and capable for surf fishing. The reel is junk. We hosed off after fishing each day and on the third day, the reels were showing signs of rust. One reel seized to where the anti-reverse ended up breaking. My buddy had rods with Penn reels that had no issues in the same conditions.
