Very strong hold, like it so much

My husband—bless him—has been trying to achieve “that messy but styled but rugged yet put-together” look since approximately 2017. We’ve been through gels, pastes, pomades, creams, you name it. Enter: Uppercut Deluxe Clay. This little tub of magic shows up, and suddenly my man is strutting through the house like he’s in a slow-mo barbershop ad. And he’s not wrong. His hair looks incredible. Matte, touchable, somehow perfectly messy without looking like he just survived a hurricane. What I love? No greasy pillows. No weird crunchy helmet head. And he still looks good even after chasing our toddler across a playground. 10/10 would recommend. Uppercut for the win.

This is the new water based formula for Clay from Uppercut. I have been using the old oil based formula for 6 years and it’s been my go-to everyday because it’s the only thing that holds my wavy thick hair. I’m torn with this new formula because in terms of hold I would say it’s a 6-7 out of 10 I have to use more of it to get desired style. But definitely washes out and smells decent.

I have hair about 2-3 inches in length and I’ve always had issues with my hair getting messed up throughout the day after I sweep it to the side in the morning. I’ve tried all kinds of products such as gels, waxes, sprays, and powders, but my main arch nemesis (aka the wind) always ends up finding a way to ruin my hair. After using this clay, I can literally go out into a category 5 hurricane and face both of my main rivals (wind/rain) and still come home with my hair in place. Also, I’m still only on the first “can” and it’s been months since I first bought it. Definitely would recommend this along with a good styling comb (the ones with the thick teeth).

When receiving a proper uppercut, no one can stand unfazed. You’re gonna fall or stumble back either way. But when your hair gets uppercut.. it’s gonna stay up firm and take whatever you throw its way! Great product.

I want to love this stuff and give it 5 stars, I really do. This is so close to perfection for me: it feels great coming out of the tin, (you DO have to get it warm rubbing it in your hands though to get it workable, but it’s super easy to apply and work with once you do) has a nice scent that isn’t too overpowering, easy to apply, sets in FAST and holds my hair in place nearly perfectly with an effortless, natural matte finish that makes it look like you just woke up like this. It also washes out incredibly easy. It just doesn’t last. I’ve used it through long shifts at the warehouse, formal events that only last an hour or two, and casual nights out with the friends. It can’t hold it for anything. Even before the formal event was over, my hair progressively fell apart until it was like there was absolutely no product in it at all. I tried wearing it around the house on a day off and reapplying as necessary - any reapplication after the initial one makes my hair greasy, piecey, and heavy. It just doesn’t have the super-high hold it advertises. It’s my understanding that it did at one point, but it changed its formula. Seems to be a running theme with hair products.

The best hair clay product that money can buy. I could never find anything for my hair that didn't leave my hair feeling dirty, greasy and definitely flat...untill I found Uppercut Clay. I ended up using jail toothpaste for the longest time, just so I could leave the house feeling somewhat ok with my hair. Now by using Uppercut Clay, I leave the house feeling great about my hair, more confident, definitely happier about my appearance and it actually smells great. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants the style they always wanted without the greasy look...10 out of 10.

This product is not worth the price. It dosnt hold like i tought it would and its very hard to apply the product to my hair. It literally make me loose hair trying to apply the product. Ive tried many differents clays before and so far this is one of the worst quality/price ive seen.

I've always been a bit tight when it came to spending money on hair product, but I was getting fed up with the off the shelf stuff, so I tried this based on reviews. The quality is amazing, the smell great, and the hold perfect. You don't need loads and it will give a decent all day hold without much issue. Worth the money as it is better than the supermarket brands.
