Although the product information describes this as being #4 shot, in actuality it is filled with lead pancakes. perhaps the equivalent weight of a #4 shot. Clearly the leads are manufactured by dripping liquid lead into water so they take on random shapes.No importance if you wish to use this product as a diving weight. I was intending to insert the shot into fishing lures that I make as counterbalance.the way she goes

These weights are to replace the ones i lost and could not be more happy with them . They are well made and are very sturdy yet subtle. Anyone wanting this style of weight will find them money well spent.

The description is not accurate, there is no number 4 shot in the bag I got, rather there are deformed droplets of lead of irregular shapes.
