FOGO Brazilian Blend Hardwood Lump Charcoal, Natural, Large Sized Lump Charcoal for Grilling and Smoking, Restaurant Quality, 17.6 Pound Bag

I’ve had my BGE for about two years, and I’ve gone through a few dozen bags of rando charcoal so far. Now that I’ve got a feel for how different woods burn, I wanted to change it up and get something new. I’m delightfully surprised there are so many gigantic pieces of lump charcoal — reviews are spot on. And half a bag into it, my experience is that it ignites quickly, burns consistently, and hot damn, it will get to 700F+ in 10 minutes. It does burn quickly if not tightly controlled. But I’m totally happy with the consistent 6+ hours it burned yesterday at 250-325. And IMO the eucalyptus wood flavor smells great and tastes mild. Will buy again.

Husband loves this. Love that it is delivered to your door. We love Harwood charcoal. It is a game changer for grilling. Taste is phenomenal. IYKYK.

Fantastic flavor, and I'm getting smoke ring like coloration just under normal grilling scenarios. The size of the chunks vary pretty extensively, with about half of the bag being extremely large parts. The remaining half was somewhere between stone and baseball size. It doesn't burn nearly as hot as some of the other brands I've tried, and it does go quick. The burn does seem to be exceptionally even, though. I'd love to make this my regular charcoal, but I don't do nearly as much smoking as I do grilling and feel like I'd end up storing a ton of large chunks since they make up so much of the bag.

Be mindful of chunk size as these are Large and XL peices! Burns great and starts easy in my charcoal starter.

I’ve purchased this brand a few times and have been pleased with the product. The chunks are decent sized, lights easily, and don’t have a chemical smell when burning. The coal keeps the heat and is great for a long cook. The eucalyptus has a good smell and flavors food in a complimentary way. The only drawback from this FOGO is that nearly a fifth of the bag was small pieces and dust that couldn’t be used. Not a deal breaker for me as I enjoy all the other aspects of this coal and settling is expected with shipping, but be aware.

Clean, hot and flavorful. Not for slow cooking. Low and sow leaves a menthol taste but hot and fast for burgers steak or chicken is great.

Bricks are included with your lump charcoal. Beware when pouring into hopper as it can fall to the bottom and potentially damage your equipment. I bought two bags and both had broken bricks in them. Lump size is inconsistent, you'll likely receive small, medium and large pieces. I used my sawzall to cut all the pieces the same size so that was a messy pain in the... Also I have found other products perform better in my gravity fed charcoal smoker. Good luck with this product as you'll need it. Honestly not sure how this product received any positive reviews as they are likely fake.

Best for the money. Large pieces make it last longer. Even heat. I like it for my rotisserie. I use it in my kamado I highly recommend it for any bbq. Great value for the money.
