however I can say that this is a great option for those looking for an ultra fast lens
I got this lens as a less expensive option to the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 for my GH-4 and G6. Since I have not used that lens I can't give a comparison, however I can say that this is a great option for those looking for an ultra fast lens. It takes great pictures and even better video. The only complaint that I have is that when I change focus I sometimes move the aperture ring on as well since they are so close to each other.I would highly recommend this lens to anyone who wants a frugal alternative to other ultra fast lenses

Should be 5, but they lied
This is a 5 star lens, but receives 4 starts for deception. I have account for at least two of these lies, but would not be surprised to find out that there are more.1. "11 apeture blades" This is a lie, there are only 92. "f/0.95" Another lie, comparing the Voigtlander directly to this it is clearly obvious that more light is entering that lens as opposed to this one. This lens is close to f/1.1Great lens nonetheless. Just had to remove a star because of the deception; I'm not fond of it.Sharp. Sharper than the Voigtlander wide open.

Mathematical it might be 0. 95. In way ...
Mathematical it might be 0.95. In way of transmission it is 1.4. Compared id to my old Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and Olympus 12-40 2.8.Compared to otther 25mm 0.95 its to small to be a 0.95.At 0.95 ( T1.4) very soft and very high cromatical aperation. I would not pay more than 100$ for this lens.

Fast, affordable and well built!
This is fantastic value for the money. The lens is reasonably sharp wide open. It has a solid build quality. If you're comfortable with manual lenses, you can't beat this one.

For the money - definitely 5 stars, but there are issues.
First of all, the glass is impressively good, it is very sharp when closed but when you buy it you wanna know something about F0.95 and F1.4.I will be comparing it to Nokton 25mm and 17.5mm equivalent of F0.95.Forget Nokton 25/0.95, mitakon lens is much just much sharper and very contrasty when compared - colors are gorgeous, rather on warmer side.Nokton 25mm is simply worse optically.Nokton 17.5mm is also worse wide open (not only wide, up to around 1.7), wide open in the centre mitakon is just much sharper and much more contrasty. What mitakon could improve optically is barrel distortion and focus line - it is not straight, it means that focusing border is not flat but oval shaped - some people claim lens are very blurry in corners, its not the case; the lens is just not in focus. Corners are not as sharp as in centre but its still good even wide open!Optically, its brilliant lens and i find using it now more often than my nokton 17.5mm!Now the bad part, the build quality... its just bad however its good its not plastic at least. All mechanics are not aligned! I had to recalibrate and fix with epoxy lens screw rings in a brand new lens! - this is really bad. Number one issue is that they use plain aluminum and not an alloy. This lens wont last long because of that unless you take cares of your gear.Bare in mind that mount is also made of plain aluminum - it means its not as strong as you may expect, the internals are also all aluminum and the elements tightening and precision in general should be improved (I had opportunity during calibration to review internals), main optical groups are actually wobbly in microscale! Try it for yourself, you can actually slightly bend the lens! When you use near infinity focus and if you get "unexpected" blurriness after shot - it means that you accidentally pulled the lens group by bending lens or pushing/pulling focus ring (its fraction of millimeter and that is enough to change focus). I could write more on the build quality but making parts of "any metal" is simply not enough to make HQ builds, this lens should be made of zinc/copper alloy, especially for its size.My advise, when you shoot with this lens - be careful to not to de-focus during pressing trigger.SummaryIts still a bargain for optics you get, its just as contrasty as my leica lens and it gives you extreme joy while shooting, it actually makes me thinking and experimenting more during shooting. MAcro abilities are also good, around 20cm focus took the attached photo of my summicron. If mitakon makes lens with even thinner barrels and internals, made of proper zinc/copper alloys - I would even pay double the price.$400 dollars for this glass is still a bargain.Someone says 0.95 isnt really 0.95, well, I measured with my noktons speeds with same light and it looks same to me - means it actually is less more F0.95.If this lens was made of better alloy with precise internals - you could just have only one lens (if you are a 50mm guy).

Disappointed. These days
Received this with caps for front or back. Disappointed. These days, I can understand if hood is optional but not the lens covers:-( Strangely, this lens cannot be mounted to the original M5/Oly. Fits fine with M5/Mk II and M1/Mk1 as well as Panasonic GH4/G7.Rings are smooth to operate. Bokeh is ok.

Great lens. Period.
This is a great lens. Period. Some issues but nothing that's glaringly negative. I got this and a rok 35 for same cost as voight. I've seen the YouTube comparisons and my own eye ball tells me this is darn sharp wide open. Shot a horror film and used this 95% of the time. If I had to choose one lens it would be sigma 18-35....and this would be probably 2...with sigma 30 in there too.
