ProTech47-102684-83 Defrost Control Board

The protech 47-102684-83 defrost board works well. Only notice should be taken on the connectors of temperature sensors. The defrost cycles did not start at beginning, I did not realize it was the contact issue of the coil sensor connector until I unplugging the connector online and then the defrost cycle suddenly get started. I guess the contacts get touched and connected when the connector is on the way out.After re-inserting the connector, it works fines afterwards.

I recently purchased this defrost control board for my (2000) UPKA-035JAZ RUUD MODEL and I must say it is a big improvement from the original one and so far it is still working like new. Also I purchased it because the original one blew and my a/c unit stopped blowing out cold air. By the way the instructions are not that detailed for those who are a DIY kind of person so I would strongly recommend to look in YouTube for a guiding video on this kind of board. All you need is one that is similar to this board and you will not go wrong as long as you follow the schematics on there. Other than that feel free to purchase this and save yourself an additional 2 to 3 hundred dollars on someone who will do the dame thing.

Direct replacement for my original defrost Ruud board in my Ruud heat pump (2001), new board working fine, now that the temperature has fallen below freezing, the defrost cycle works as the ice has not built up.There is no manual in the box but I found them via googling.My older board does not have the external ambient temperature sensor, only the thermocouple to sense the pipe temperature.I needed the manual to ensure I get the right sensor at the right connector.So far so good!I'm very happy to troubleshoot and fixe the heat pump defrost problem (with the help of youtube 8-))

Direct fit. Just took pics of how old one was connected and put wires on same terminals. Fired right up and took care of problem! Thanks!

Installed on my Rheem RPKB - 036JA2 unit with no issues. Easy to swap out old with new. Much better alternative to the $334 dollars the heating company wanted to charge me.

Everything I looked for and more. Lot cheaper than in store. But I couldn't find a store that would sell it to me because I don't have contractor's license
