Q: How to clean cooking grids

I burn off after every use and empty ash off the grids every couple months. They do not need to be cleaned regularly. Mine lasted over three years.

The holes are indeed on the top of the ridges.I was concerned about the pictures as well but it might just be an optical illusion. Bear in mind these are generic emitter plates and likely not an exact match. For my grill, the grates do not lock in over the emitter plate holes. They can move around and do not fit as closely to the grill plates. This allows for uneven cooking and more clogging of the holes. You will have to align and clean more often.
