Don't ever order from this company is such a hassle to get a refund and return label this is the worst place they say it fits a 2006 but not all 2006 tailgates are the same this one's too narrow I tried getting it through Amazon but someone have to get stuck with the 38 $39 that it cost me Don't ever use this company it's junk

Fits ok, not great

This thing fit PERFECTLY on my 2004 ford f150. There is a very small gap on each end, but it looks normal and is uniform on both sides. Just popped right in, no issues. Will update the review based on longevity

I recently replaced the tailgate on my F150 2006 pickup. I was able to buy a new metal shell at a good price off another site -- came primered in black and so all I had to do was paint and topcoat it, which I did with spray cans, and then transfer or replace the hardware and emblems.Turns out, the old tailgate had already had substantial bodywork and the long plastic cap had been off and on a few times. In fact, it was pretty loose. I pried it off with a long screwdriver and found a lot of the underside built-in bodywork clips were so broken or badly bent, they wouldn't fit any more.I ordered this to replace it -- the description says it's an exact match for my truck. It went on easily -- all new clips underneath which were part of the molding process. I used a rubber mallet to tap it into place, starting in the middle, and only then did I realize the fitment problem. Sadly, the cap is 1/2-inch short on each end. By the time I discovered that, I realized that if I wanted to return it, I'd probably break a lot of clips getting it off.It doesn't look too bad on, and apart from being short, it's a good tight fit. How did they get the measurements so far off?? The product description says it's an exact match for my vehicle.The plastic they used is thinner than the OEM cap, but it is textured and looks right. Overall, it's does the job and looks good, but getting the length off by an inch is just wrong. A star off, even though I'm reasonably pleased with the final result.
