A serious upgrade for blown factory sound
I finally had to address the sound situation in my 2016 F-150 after the stock door units completely failed. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune on a high-end audiophile setup, but I did want something that could handle some volume and offer a real improvement over the original equipment. This pair turned out to be the ideal solution. For a budget-friendly option, they handle power incredibly well. Rated at 270 watts max, they can take a decent amount of volume without distorting, which is exactly what I meant when I said they "hit hard". The bass is punchy and full, much better than the flat sound I was used to. I also noticed a difference in the highs; the 3-way design with the silk dome tweeter separates the vocals and instruments clearly, so the sound isn't muddy. Installation was straightforward, and the build quality with the rubber surround feels durable enough to last. If you need to swap out dead speakers in your truck and want good performance for the money, these are hard to beat.

You want be disappointed with these skar 6/9
At first when I took them out of the box. I thought they weren’t made to the quality you expect from skar. But after hooking them up in the door of my old dodge ram. They sound really good. Crystal clear they aren’t much on base. But im to old for that anyway. Lol overall I think they are well worth the money.

Amazing audio quality and value!
Wow! These speakers are amazing! Unbelievable value for the money. Crisp, clear, and loud. The bass from two of these in the trunk below the back deck of a 2007 Honda Accord is phenomenal. These speakers hit hard. I am a new Skar Audio customer and can’t wait to buy more of their products.

“Budget-Friendly Speakers That Deliver Solid Sound”
This review is based on the product’s features, performance, and practical use in car audio setups, offering a balanced perspective to help you decide if these speakers are right for your needs. I recently installed the Skar Audio RPX65 6.5” 200W 2-Way Coaxial Speakers in my car to replace the stock setup, and they’ve proven to be a solid upgrade for anyone looking to improve their audio without spending a fortune. While they’re not audiophile-grade, these speakers offer clear, punchy sound at a price that’s hard to beat. Quality and Build The RPX65 speakers are built with a polypropylene cone and a rubber surround, which is standard for budget-friendly car speakers. The construction feels sturdy enough for everyday use, and the 6.5-inch size makes them a direct fit for most vehicles without needing modifications. They’re not designed for extreme conditions or heavy abuse, but for typical driving and listening, they hold up well. The 2-way coaxial design, with the tweeter mounted in the center of the woofer, is common in this price range and helps with sound staging in a car’s cabin. Performance These speakers handle a good range of frequencies, delivering clear mids and highs that make vocals and instruments stand out. The bass is decent but not earth-shaking—don’t expect it to rattle your windows like higher-end models. They’re rated at 200W peak power, but for optimal performance, you’ll want to pair them with an amplifier that outputs around 50-60W RMS. I tested them with and without an amp, and while they sound fine on their own, the extra power really brings out their potential, especially in larger vehicles or if you like your music loud. Value for Money At this price point, the Skar Audio RPX65 speakers are a steal. They’re significantly cheaper than many competitors, yet they provide a noticeable improvement over factory-installed speakers. For the average listener who wants better sound quality without diving into high-end audio gear, these offer excellent bang for your buck. If you’re on a budget but still want to upgrade your car’s audio, these are a no-brainer. Pros • Affordable Price: A great entry point for anyone looking to improve their car’s sound system. • Easy to Install: Fits most standard 6.5-inch speaker slots with no modifications needed. • Clear Sound Quality: Handles mids and highs well, making music and vocals crisp. • Good for Everyday Listening: Perfect for casual listeners who want better-than-stock performance. Cons • Bass Could Be Stronger: Lacks the deep, powerful bass that some users might crave. • Not Ideal for Audiophiles: Won’t satisfy those seeking top-tier sound quality. • May Require an Amp: To get the best performance, pairing with an amplifier is recommended. Minor Notes These are 2-way coaxial speakers, meaning the tweeter is integrated into the woofer. This design is great for budget setups but might not offer the same sound separation as component speakers. Also, while they’re rated for 200W peak power, the RMS rating is more modest (around 60W), so keep that in mind when matching them with an amp. Overall The Skar Audio RPX65 6.5” 200W 2-Way Coaxial Speakers are a fantastic option for anyone looking to upgrade their car’s audio on a budget. They’re not perfect—bass enthusiasts and audiophiles might want something more powerful—but for everyday listening, they deliver clear, enjoyable sound. Easy to install and priced right, they’re a great value. I’m giving them a solid 4-star rating for their performance and affordability. These speakers are perfect if you want a noticeable audio boost without the high cost—highly recommended for budget-conscious buyers!

Great for the money
First, they don't come with wires. That doesn't bother me because I would have tossed them anyway. I got some Red Wolf adapters that plugged right into the speaker and the wiring harness. I used these to replace the stock speakers in my 2014 F150. At first I found them to be really tinny sounding with a weak low end, however after a couple days of playing they must have broken in because the bass response is much better. I have a sub and the midbass was always kind of so-so with the factory speakers. Now with a tweak to my EQ the Skar speakers flow perfectly into the sub's range and the midbass weakness is gone. The sub really picks up below 80-100hz and from around 80-240 or so the stock system just didn't have it. It worked, kind of, but it wasn't great. Now it sounds like a totally different system. I've actually had to turn the gain on the sub down yet is still rattles the mirrors. The sub is just a single 8 in a ported enclosure tuned for 33hz and an F3 of around 30. I'm using a 200w amp for the sub. No amp on the door speakers though, just the factory Sync radio. I'm sure there's better speakers out there but not for less than $50 a pair.

Skar 4x6 speakers
Skar 4x6 speakers. They sound decent but they DO NOT come with any screws or terminals. The terminal size is the yellow ones not the blue or smaller.
