Schick Hydro 5 Disposables are required equipment for my man-grooming…and I do A LOT of man-grooming due to TRT (generic Androgel). The back story is that I’ve always been a gym rat so I still prefer to look good with few clothes on at 57 y/o and show up kids half my age at the pool. However, I don’t want hair where it shouldn’t be…but because of TRT, I now have hair where it shouldn’t be which is on my back, shoulders, and neck; hence these razors. Once a week I clipper my legs, arms, abs, and my mini-patch just above my manhood with a 1 guard and use a 4 guard on my chest (the wife loves my hair on my pecks)…but everything else gets painstakingly shaved in the shower 3X week…including my back (my wife gets my upper back and neck since those are out of my reach), shoulders, and the boys and all around down there because we both like it smooooooooth there (except for that little mini-patch). Ironically, my bum is smooth! Go figure. Anyway, I’ve tried every razor available, disposable, reusable, every brand, and even Nair…and Schick Hydro 5 Disposables are by far THE best for broad smooth hair removal. Other razors dragged, nicked me up, weren’t sharp enough, etc…and since I can no longer find Schick Hydro 5 Disposables at WG’s or CVS, as usual…it’s Amazon to the rescue!!! As far as economy, I go through one razor for 2 body shaves and I body-shave 3X a week…so do the math. Nicks are nonexistent with these razors because the moisture reservoir is the largest of all razors and the ridge on each blade somehow give a close but nick-free shave…and therefore, these glide like butter. Unfortunetely, the coconut oil reservoir easily outlasts the sharpness of the razors which is typical of ALL razors—short blade life. And now that I’ve begun using EOS Cashmere shave oil in lieu of tradition shave cream, these razors glide even better and leave my skin soft and I’m finding the razors are t quite as dull by the end of the second body shave. Also, because you can flip these razors open, they’re easy to rinse especially with so much body shaving (the ability to open them is for the single razor on the back for sideburn lines but I don’t utilize that feature since these are solely for body shaving for me.) As much as it is a pain in the A to body shave 3X per week at about 40 minutes per shower when I body shave (fyi—the water is off while I body shave except to rinse the razor), the one positive is that these razors are by far the best for such a monotonous task. And yes, they’re completely safe around “the boys,” too…and I shave EVERYTHING down there, back there, under there, etc…and it’s a piece of cake with no disasters on the precious equipment. LOL!

Good build quality on the handle, blade quality is consistently great, great shaves, one razor lasts me two to three months shaving 3x per week. Toward the end of the blade life the shaves take a little more effort and a couple more minutes than when the blades are newer, but these work great overall. Five blade razors are by far my favorite. They make shaving take much less effort than the single-edge blades and even the three-blade models. When I first tried a Gillette Mach 3 back when it first came out, I thought it was the best razor possible, but these came later and are far better. Don't let anyone sell you on the old single blades, safety razors, or whatever. Those blades work good for maybe 3-6 shaves and start to get noticeably dull, scratchy, and cutty. These five-blade Schicks last me 25-30 shaves before I notice it taking more effort to get a good shave and change them out for a new one. If you go gently, like sweeping a floor with a broom, gentle is better and more efficient, same here, these razors shave as well as any you can get. Really good product, and the lube strip helps (it's almost too gooey when new), but for the money, all the shaving clubs, old-time single edges, razors that use three old-time single-edges, and blah blah blah, all that considered, these razors are as good as you can do for a good, blood-free shave for a good price. Just use good shave cream, nice warm water, go easy, and your face will be baby-butt smooth. The ladies like that.

Hard to find in stores, but they shave so close on my face without having to repeat certain spots. The 5 blades allow to put more pressure and shave in one pass. Wife loves them too. So we buy them for the both us.
