Does not feel like cashmere
Bought this after reading the reviews and knowing well that it is very thin - single ply. If you are knitting and are used to yarn weights described in words, this is lace-weight. I bought enough spools to combine the threads into a thicker yarn. Got it on time. The spools are not large, but reasonable in size for the price. However, to the touch, the yarn does not feel like cashmere. It's not particularly soft. Not coarse either, but feels just like regular wool that comes from sheep. I have not started the project yet. May update as I work on it and see how the fabric evolves.UPDATE: This is wonderful yarn, so I am changing the rating from 3 starts to 5. I bought dark blue and had to combine the thread from three spools into one ball. The ball turned out to be HUGE. I used half of it to make the vest shown in the picture here. The yarn is remarkably soft and silky. Will be buying more. Well worth it for the price.

Exactly as shown and with a personal touch!
Like most, I got this yarn to darn a hole in a cashmere item. The item I got is EXACTLY what is shown, and exactly what I needed for darning, so I’m happy! The seller included a handwritten thank you note addressed to me by name, which I found extremely thoughtful and cute, hence why I’m reviewing this store and not others, as most come with a form letter thanking you and asking for a review. The fact they sat down and did this little note by hand, and included my name (Thus treating me like a human and not a mindless consumer), says a lot! Also, some have complained this is thread; The seller states that this is skinny yarn and suggests you double or triple up on the yarn you’re using if you need thicker. I’ve found thick cashmere yarn, but the price for a ball—not enough to make anything—is 3 figures. Per ball. Cashmere clothes are expensive, so it follows that the yarn would be, too (Otherwise why would anyone wear anything else?!)I’m very happy with my purchase!

Too weak to knit with
I am a professional knitter, and I tried to knit this on both a 7gg domestic brother knitting machine and a 12 gg industrial machine- I even tried plying up x3 on the 7gg. The feel and weight is beautiful- if you can get it to knit. It is so weak it doesn’t even snap like most yarn- it softly dissolves. This happens every 100 rows or so, and makes the yarn completely unviable for knitting a garment.

Good lace weight
This yarn is about the same size as 2 strands of embroidery floss (for those who don't know floss is 6 strands twisted loosely together that get pulled apart for use). That said this yarn is quite small. It is a lace weight. If you knit tightly you might want a synthetic yarn as this will break if you are having to force your stitches. I am very happy with this other than a couple of places where the yarn was broken. It is soft as expected and the yardage makes it a good value.

Very pretty color
I purchased the violet color. It's soft and vibrant. I wish there was a thicker version I could purchase for weaving, but I don't think that's an option. Definitely very fine, thread not yarn. I used it to patch a hole in my couch and am happy with the strength and color of the thread.

Yes it’s thin, but well worth it
Much of the lace weight yarn sold in the US is actually two loose strands pre-washed so you can feel how soft it is in the skein. This is not pre-washed. It’s well spun yarn, generous yardage, and it’s tightly wound on a cone, which makes it easy to knit with two strands together. I’ve had wonderful luck with it, and when it’s washed it blooms as you would expect cashmere to do. For the price, it’s a super deal if you know what to expect and how to treat it once it’s knit up.

Scratchy and poor quality
Kind of disappointed with the quality. The fiber feels scratchy like poor quality wool rather than cashmere. I bought this knowing it would be closer to thread-yarn, so that's not the issue I have with it like the other reviews, but I was definitely hoping it would be way softer than this.
