We have the Woodland variety and the Keyring variety. We love both!But...The Keyring variety is much, much harder.My kiddo can pretty independently do the easy-sew Woodland variety on their own. The cute face details are just stickers. You basically just sew the outer edge and fill it with stuffing. The finished product is about 6-7 inches.The Keyring variety faces are sewn details. This requires a lot more attention to detail and figuring out how the pieces stack up. There is a reason the age suggestion is older. With that said, the finished result is super cute! Keyring size is about 5-6 inches.

My Granddaughter and I are having fun sewing these stuffies. The directions for each is in pictures so she is able to follow them on her own. The felt is strong and yet feels soft. The stuffies are larger than I expected and turn out cute. I'm impressed with this kit.

Package says it is for 6+ with adult and 7+ by themselves. Did this with 8 year olds and they needed an adult to help. Very cute and holes easy to use but directions a bit complicated.

I bought this for a play date for a bunch of 14 yr. olds, and it was a fun and overall money well spent. Some sewing experience is helpful, because the instructions were just pictures (nothing written) which caused some confusion when it came down to length of string needed. Also, there are only 4 needles enclosed for 6 projects, so 2 of my guests had to wait for their turn.

My 8-year-old daughter has not tried making these cute animals yet, so I cannot tell you how difficult it is for a person that age to sew on their own.However- the felt material comes with pre-cut holes for beginning sewers. This kit only comes with 3 plastic pink embroidery needles and one needle threader (see picture). If you’re planning to use the kit with 6 people, you will need to buy 3 additional embroidery needles.The kit also comes with 6 keyrings, and some batting/stuffing. I doubt the stuffing will fill all 6 animal. You probably need more stuffing.The kit comes with 11 embroidery floss/thread colors:red, white, seagreen, turquoise, dark violet, lavender, Cyclamin pink, dusty rose, brown, black, and a mix of 5 colors (bright orange, white, brown, gray, yellow) for miscellaneous stitching.The 5 color strands are for small bits of sewing such as: orange for the owl’s beak and ears; gray for the raccoon’s eyes; light brown for the dog’s eye patch and mouth.The felt pieces are quite thin (see picture included), but the fuzzy felt pieces feel soft to me. I’m not sure how durable they will be, but it looks like a fun kit for an 8+ year old (which is the age recommendation on the box).6+ with adult help and 8+ on their own.

This is a great gift. I got this for my 6 year old daughter and she loved it. It’s a little too difficult to do on her own so I have to help her.

My child had a blast making these adorable keychains. Great for fine motor skills and kept her busy for hours! However, my 6 year old needed a lot of help with this craft. It is not great for young beginners. I got it for a plane ride but it has a lot of pieces that we kept dropping. Also, they are keychains but they are pretty large!

I like to have craft items around for when my nine year old granddaughter stays with me. She really enjoyed making the things in this kit. She already has some hand sewing experience, so she didn't need my help at all, and she was so pleased with what she made.
