This stuff works great!
The bottom of my oven developed a couple of small holes from crinkling from thermal shock, so it was not holding its temperature very well. But this sealed up the holes easily and my oven holds its temperature once again! I originally bought this a couple of years ago and simply reapply it every six months. It lasts a long time! As for someone mentioning that its food safety is questionable because they only saw it on a sheet of paper, it has the NSF logo right on the bottle.

Used this to seal an exhaust leak
This is a really neat product and works perfectly to seal exhaust leaks on your car. Highly recommend even with the higher price. After tons of research this was the right choice and has held firm with its sealing and high temperature working ability. Use gloves, this will get on anything and everything and stain it permanently.

Good for constant 500 degrees, easy to dispense, sealed well, sticks to vertical surfaces
Easy to apply. I like that the tube was molded closed and you cut the plastic away to open the nozzle. This is much better than the caulk tubes that are sealed with foil. Doesn't smell, I used it indoors without issue. Adheres very well on vertical surfaces. You get about 10 minutes of working time if you need to tool it around to get the right coverage or thickness then it skins over. Bottle says it fully cures in 24 hours.

And one sealant to RULE them all....
This is the BEST sealant I've ever used. It's the super glue of sealants. It's FOOD SAFE. You don't need much to adhere smooth surfaces, even to smooth concrete. It's got a STRONG vinegar smell which goes away in a day or so It ain't cheap but it's the moral high ground if working around water, sinks, kids, anyone concerned about chemical safety and should ensure no call backs. If using in finished area you'll need to hold back and cover over once cured with something more decorative than it's screaming orange red color. I say hold back rather than just paint over, as any peeled paint will leave a GLARING problem and call back.

An amazing product
I bought this product specifically for its food grade application and it’s high temperature rating. It worked perfectly for my application. It does have a strong odor until it cures out, but once it has it does a great job of sealing almost anything and at very high temperatures.

5 stars for the product, minus 2 for the packaging
So far so good on the product - currently curing, but curing as it is supposed to. Using it on a brew kettle, and will give it a test in a few days. Appears to be a good product per the datasheet, and I expect it to perform as intended, since I adhered to the directions. Minus 2 points for the packaging - nozzle is a separate piece that has to be screwed on. That means two items to cut open, not just one. Also, no cap is included to cover the threaded port on the tube, to save it for later, and the nozzle has a narrow taper, so a common caulk tube cap won't fit. So, the only way to save remainder for later is to stick something like a screw in the nozzle, or maybe just let the product in the nozzle cure, to serve as a cap, then order more nozzles. REGARDING OTHER REVIEW's concerns and misunderstandings, all you need to do is look up the datasheet (tech sheet, aka TDS) from the manufacturer's website - just search on the product name, RTV-6500, and heed & follow instructions & warnings, which are typical of RTV silicones. Food grade issue: product is certified to FDA CFR 177.2600 and NSF 51, USDA approved. CFR 177.2600 specifies constant food contact. Curing issue: the instructions on the tube and TDS indicate a max fillet and gap of 1/4". Any more and it may not cure properly, which is a very common characteristic of RTV (room temperature "vulcanized") silicone products. Vinegar smell: product is identified on the tube and TDS as "acetoxy" type, which is an acetic acid cure (what makes it cure at room temperature). Acetic acid = vinegar. Harmless unless you intend to use this for anything sensitive to corrosion like electronics or other copper, tin or lead products. DON'T use this around electronics. This is true for ANY acetoxy type RTV silicone like just about any you'll find at the hardware store. Messiness: I found this aspect as-typical for any RTV silicone. Missing tip: I'd just send it back for a replacement and make your complaints clear to the supplier, about the packaging.
