Our first biker or gremlin bell lasted 8 years on our bike. Then we noticed one day it was gone. It was a Canadian flag one and so not a total loss since the freedom idiot protesters sullied the Canadian flag for good for us anyhow. We bought a skull bell and it lasted ONE trip. This time we bought the bell hanger with a new bell and so far so good.
