This can be looked at as a very expensive soy sauce. After you taste it though you will realize all other soy sauces are cheap salty and poor substitutions. The quality of this sauce is incredible. When I go out for Japanese food I take a small bottle of this with me. Flavor is very bold without the saltiness you get from lesser sauces. I’d I had to describe its flavor I would say imaging all of the umami flavor you taste with regular soy sauces and turn it up to ten. A little of this sauce goes a long way. This brands ponzu and kelp sauces are also excellent.

Delicious flavor but inconsistent pricing
This is a beautifully flavored sauce. Can really appreciate the time and effort of making. It is worth paying a little extra than normal soy sauce. I do not like the fact that the price fluctuates so much if want to reorder. It was cheaper on prime and then it was off prime with delivery fee and now it is back on prime at about $5 more a bottle than originally bought.

Well worth the price, 0 regrets paying for deliciousness in every drop
The taste is incredibly rich, and it's borderline tempting to sip it by itself. The only downside is that after buying this soy sauce, there's absolutely no way I can go back to imitation. I will say that I still use imitation soy sauce in some cooked dishes such as stews. But if I am using it raw, or as a condiment, there's no question I need this bottle in my pantry.

Phenomenal flavors
This is not your standard soy sauce. It is full of flavors and lip-smacking umami. When adding this to a dish you're not only adding saltiness, you're adding a complex variety of flavors including a good background of dashi (fish broth). It is not "fishy". It does, however, give it a light addition of fish sauce that goes incredibly well with many dishes. I primarily use it in ramen and sometimes in pho but it can be used for both cooking and dipping. The bottle is 18oz so it will last quite a while. Definitely coming back to this bottle once it's gone.

Absolutely delicious!
I saw the video production of Samin Nosrat's Salt Fat Acid Heat and was particularly intrigued with her exploration of aged Japanese soy sauce. I had to find it and was blown over by the Yamaroku sauce. It truly has so much depth of flavor that I am permanently spoiled and will not be satisfied by grocery store versions. I had to order a second bottle because we went through the first so quickly. Using just a little goes a long way because the flavor is delightfully intense.
