Ok for practice writing
It's ok for practicing the shapes of the script but the romanisation/English pronunciation is off, e.g the first example shows Kài (chicken), but its actually a G sound as in Gài. I would suggest ignoring the soundings and practice writing.

Good quality, not very in depth. For practice only
I memorized the Alphabet using this book in conjuction with a free app (app not related to the book, found in Google play store).I used the book to write the letters many times til they stuck in my brain. For pronunciation, the API is not provided and that's why I used an app to hear the sounds and practice flash cards as well. The paper is good quality, similar to the thick paper in Kumon books. This book also does not teach if a consonant is mid, high or low. This is purely for writing practice. I bought another book that has all of that plus the modern characters.

Vowels, numbers and tones not very detailed. API pronunciation missing
For consonants it shows the order of the strokes and the entire name with pronunciation and tones. The part on vowels, numbers and tones is not very detailed. The API pronunciation is missing (only English pronunciation is present). The characters are present in the traditional form but not in the more modern one. The class of consonants (high, medium and low) is not indicated.

Good starter book, however some inaccuracies in it
Would recommend this as a good starter book and to practice character writing. I will point out that there are in my opinion some minor pronunciation errors listed and I base this comment on my 7 years of living in Thailand and learning the language, reading and writing system. Some points to help you: this letter ก is pronounced with a more harder 'G' sound than the 'K' as indicated in the book. On pg103 of the book it has a list of words, มด which is 'Ant' they suggest the last letter is pronounced as 'd', however in Thai if ด is the final letter it is pronounced with a 't' sound. Similarly โรงพยาบาล means hospital & the ending character ล equates to English letter 'L', however, again on pg103, it suggests you pronounce the last letter as 'L', this is incorrect as in Thai if ล is the final letter it is pronounces with the 'n' sound. Hope this helps somewhat for those that are considering this book.
