Everything I wanted in a Dock
I have this attached to my MacBook Air M1. It works perfectly and makes no audible hiss or noise (as referred to by other reviewers). Attached I have my LG monitor via USBC, a HDD for my Time Machine backup and an external SSD enclosure with a WD SN550 NVME inside. This leaves me with one port free on my MacBook, a USB 2 port on the front of the dock, 1 thunderbolt on the rear of the dock, and 2 USB3.2 ports on the back. I have tested all ports and they all work at the advertised speed. The SD slot is really helpful for getting files off my camera without using a dongle. The external SSD hits speeds which are pretty much spot on as if it were connected directly to the MacBook.I went through loads of USBC docks and hubs - UGreen, Anker, Satechi etc and they all had some sort of flaw or quality issues. This is much much more expensive, but I am now glad I spent the extra and have a robust and useable dock.

Solid with huge PSU
The switchmode lump-in-a-cord PSU is about as big as the hub, it's overspecc'd for 180W which is good.Thunderbolt / USB-C laptop power delivery is working on a Dell XPS13 well, without the original adapter.Thunderbolt 4 stuff works, I can use a 4K/60 thunderbolt 4 HDMI adapter on the far side of it.Ethernet is good at 1Gbps.USB3 hub parts are working solid.... and all this on Fedora Linux 34, so no problems there.Replaces a ratsnest of USB2 / 3/ C / Thunderbolt adapters filling the two laptop ports, into one laptop port in use and the original PSU can live in my laptop bag. There is no noise coming out of it.Basically it's completely successful at what it claimed to do, but holy overpricing, Batman... it's GBP280, you can get a low end laptop for that!

If you value your time on your 16" MAC M1
I have had this unit for 12 months, this was purchased along with my 16" MacBook Pro M1I could say a lot of good things like it will charge your laptopit will work if you don't use all the ports, it will work eventually when you work out if it's not overloaded or issues with AV or network adapter ok you get it.it works then it doesn't I unplug and plug it back in, and it works, forget it is a problem then it doesn't work, super annoying.I put up with it because I was waiting for stock from Caldigit, God only knows what's going on with import-export lately.Solution bought the Caldigit TS4, does what it says on the tin so far, it is bloody pricey but peaceful I don't know it is there, I switch on my laptop and away I go, that's what I am paying for engineering thought through, so I don't notice its thereA word to Kensington, you know what's wrong with this "Just fix it! OMG"

Works with MacBook Pro M2
I recently upgraded from a 2015 MacBook Pro to a MacBook Pro M2. At the same time, I upgraded from a Belkin Thunderbolt 1 dock to this Kensington Thunderbolt 4 dock.I am very happy with this dock. I use it for charging, ethernet, USB-A scanner connection, plus USB-A and USB-C external disk drives. As a bonus, it also charges my Android phone. All of these functions work perfectly. And I like the power button - it enables me to sleep the external drives when the MacBook is disconnected.Very satisfied. NB I have not tried to use the dock with external monitors.

Better options out there ..for this price range...
I bought this dock, only because equivalent Calldigit was out of stock in amazon. However, I bought this trusting it would do a good job for its price point. It did for Macbook pro but not for windows. It has ample ports and 2 display port, card readers, headphone jack and big plus for this one is it charges at 100W.However, the drawback is that it doesnt have a power switch to turn off the dock, because its on all the time it gets really heated up. Also sometime it stops working and I have to unplug the powercable and replug for it to work. Not good at this price point. But for me the deal breaker was not working well with my lenovo t490's, as the dock only made one monitor 4k and the other 2k. But laptop itself support 2 4k's innately. If I bypass the dock everything was fine.I myself tried a lot of good remedies before reaching out to kensington support. They raised a ticket and said that one of the manager will be in touch. However that didnt happen. However I called amazon and they were super, help me return the item. But seriously disappointed with the dock, I tried my best to make it work for all my needs. But unfortunately dock or the company, didnt help as much as I tried to make it work. Hence bought Belkin thunderbolt 4 dock. Its there, but not there really is the summary of this dock.Hope the review helps.

Versatile and well made.
Not the cheapest but worth spending a bit extra because it's so versatile and well made. I use it as a docking station for a Mac Pro and it's done everything I've asked, downloading photos with the card slot has been particularly fast. Highly recommended.
