Q: Which awards has the pariticular "cal. olive ranch 100 california grown extra virgin olive oil" won?

Consumer Labs, an independent lab service I subcribe to who evaluates many brands of nutritional products continues to rate this California olive oil in the top of the pack each year. It is now the brand I continue to trust. Sometimes the oil is a bit sharper in taste than other bottles, but as they report, the sharper the taste (peppery), the more powerful it is for your health. When the climate is harsh, it causes the olives to produce more nutritious ingredients. This service alerts when a product misses the mark on quality.

Q: What is the difference between organic labeled olive oils and this with the non-gmo label?

I can't speak for olive oil in particular, but non-GMO does not mean not sprayed, it just means not genetically engineered in a lab. That means it could have been sprayed with glyphosate or other herbicides before harvest to "encourage ripening" and bring the harvest in all at once. Non-GMO used to mean something. And since so far there are no genetically engineered olives in the U.S., it's just a feel-good and possibly deceptive label.

Q: is it first cold pressed?

Yes,it is cold pressed, like all of California Ranch oils that I've bought.
