Actually, we never kept 'em full when we stored them. We empty them first, before putting them away. Aside of that, they don't seem to leak. They aren't like the "other" brand squirt guns in the sense that they don't actually use a trigger; you pump the bottom part of the gun and that's what sprays the water, so the mechanism is pretty simple and not as prone to leaking as a trigger mechanism.
