Unique and vibrant colors
I have been dying my hair for 30+ years, starting with manic panic I have tried Artic Fox, Punky Color, Special Effects, Pravana Chromasilk (OG), and a host of other random Brands. Yet to try Pulp Riot and good dye young. That all being said, my review is such. This brand reminds me a lot of original formula Manic Panic. Deep and Rich colors and heavy on the color bleed. I find the aquamarine color bleed the worst so far, no problems with the Amethyst myself. My hair is soft and manageable after using this, the smell is quite mild and nice as well. I find the color holds best when used immediately after lightening while your hair follicles are still a bit more receptive to color. My color strand test immediately after lightening did not bleed as much and stayed very well for the greens and blues with only 10m development time. The pinks did not hold as well with this amount of time.I found the formula a dream to work with. Just the right consistency to go on and spread easily to just where I wanted it for this look.Blending the colors was different the hues are not mixed the way many others and if you mix amethyst and red, you will not get a pretty purple. Saphire and purple creates an amazing royal Blurple. The greens and blues on this line are unlike any I have used before, I could mix the colors they give us but rarely did I find these deep hues quite this way, the unique color profile makes buying the emerald, aquamarine and Saphire worth it alone.I would even say the emerald is the perfect forest green. It is truly stunning and I honestly forgot to put it in my hair and was heartbroken because it is so beautiful and rich. The red is also a perfect red IMO, a wonderful deep and vibrant red, though I didn’t use it in this style. The yellow, orange and light green in my photo are IroIro as my yellow funshine bear did not arrive in time. For the reviews that state this gets everywhere, this is much like any deep pigment dye I have used and, like most conditioning colors, it will adhere better to less than healthy hair. So I highly recommend buying a color bowl kit and gloves and rinsing your hair in a shower that won’t stain. Every dye I have used stains my shower to some degree and if you want it to last longer, bleach your hair.I will absolutely use this dye again, it is incredibly rich and vibrant and makes my hair wonderfully soft. I cannot speak to how long the color bleed will last but if it is pervasive that is a definite deal breaker for most, it will stain your everything and sometimes your hands and neck with bad enough bleed.Still 5 stars because it is one of the best dyes I have used and many brands have one or two colors that bleed. If anyone at INH reads this, please make an orange color :).Update: the color bleed ceased and the color is now simply gorgeous with no ill effects. After first wash the colors were still incredibly vibrant and my hair is silky, shiny and soft.

Better than Pravana Color Vivids
This is a long one but bare with me. I have been dying my hair with Pravana Color Vivids Violet for 4 years now. I bleach my hair every 4 months and would have to color my hair with Pravana every 3-4 weeks to maintain a non faded purple. I wash my hair every 2-3 days given how active I am and use a non spray fry shampoo in-between washes. It was rough, but if you have a bright color you know the struggle. Well in the last year Pravana has gotten harder and harder to find and they’ve changed their formula. I ended up needing to give myself a refresh for a last minute event and couldn’t get any Pravana in in time so I stumbled upon this dye. Reading the reviews I was skeptical but it was the only one I could get in time. I tried it my have been absolutely blown away with the quality!Pros:-The color LASTS!!! 7weeks until I needed a refresh. I’m talking washing every other day and heat styling! And it was still bright and vivid.-The fade out is even. (IYKYK)-The color is vibrant! (Granted it’s not the same hue I’ve been used to with Pravana, but it looks amazing!)Cons:-It does stain in the washout, but no worse then Pravana has for me in the past. And it’s easy to clean off of surfaces with a bit of all purpose cleaner as long as you don’t let it sit too long. But I do recommend wearing gloves during the washout and doing an initial sink rinse before a shower unless you want to be scrubbing your body post color rinse.-You will get purple nails for the first few days until you are a couple washes into the color cycle.-There was a slight color transfer to my pillowcase on the first night. But after a second wash I had no problems.FYIs-It is a more blue based violet. So the fade out leans into a blue fade out.

Great product- 100% recommend!
Extremely pleased with the fire opal.I have darker toned,, thick, long, coarse/thirsty curly hair that has become very “mousy” in color. While I know this dye would be much more vibrant on blonde or bleached hair I’m not willing to damage my hair to get the effect. I was hoping for a nice subtle color shift that wasn’t too overwhelming and left my hair looking and feeling healthy and this stuff 100% did the job. In the sun it really pops, indoors it gives a nice subtle luster.Despite having thick/thirsty nearly waist length hair - one container easily completed my whole head (i was a little nervous I might run out partway through so was cautious about not using too much early on and had plenty left to really slather it on at the end.No harsh chemical smell, actually though it smelled mildly minty. Did not damage my curls, left hair feeling soft and healthy. Curious to see how long the color lasts but I would absolutely buy again as part of my periodic hair maintenance and definitely recommend!
