Good-quality lycopene capsules
These lycopene capsules come in a tall, white, narrow plastic carton with a plastic, push-on lid. I would have preferred a more conventionally shaped bottle personally.The capsules are standard capsule size. I find them easy enough to swallow with water as recommended. I have not noticed any particular taste or after-taste from them. Neither have I experienced any unwanted side-effects. I was a little surprised that unlike other lycopene supplements I have tried, they are beige in colour rather than red.Lycopene is a well-known natural nutrient found in tomatoes and other red and pink fruit and vegetables. It is a powerful anti-oxidant, and may have particular benefits for the skin, eyes, prostate and heart. It also appears to offer some protection against the damaging effects of the sun.I take lycopene primarily for prostate health. I was treated for prostate cancer six years ago, so I take it to try to reduce the chances of any recurrence. Touch wood, it seems to be working so far.This carton contains 120 capsules. The recommended dose is one or two capsules once or twice a day. So if you take one capsule a day the carton should last about four months, or two months with a double dose, or just one month if you take two twice daily. Each capsule contains 15 mg of lycopene. According to the Healthline website, a daily intake of between 8 and 21 mg appears most beneficial. So on that basis I would have thought one capsule a day would be quite sufficient for the average individual.The price of this supplement seems reasonable to me compared with other lycopene supplements I have tried. It is made in the UK and certified cruelty-free. Nothing significant to criticize, so I am awarding it the full five stars.

A great addition to sunscreen
Each capsule provides 15mg of lycopene, while the tub recommends 1-2 capsules per day, at a cost of 17p/capsule.I take this because a number of clinical trials shows that tomato consumption, and in particular the lycopene, can have beneficial effects on the skin's ability to stave off sun damage.I take two of these per day and, alongside sunscreen, I don't experience any reddening or burning of the skin.I have been taking lycopene supplements for years, and prior to that I would consune a large amount of tomato paste each day during the summer months.I would highly recommend this to anyone as a little extra defence against UV related damage in addition to your normal sunscreen routine.

Vegan friendly
Until recently, it seemed the only way to get adequate lycopene was to eat plenty of tomato sauce. It's good to see this supplement. I was aware that it is beneficial to prostate health, but not that it is an antioxidant. The capsule shell appears to be vegan friendly. The container mentions targetted release that implies it is time release, but there isn't an explanation.
