Terrible delivery service. Late delivery date, no explanation given. Becoming increasingly more common with Amazon. I just had the same thing happen on another item ordered. No problem with the knife, love it, just a problem with Amazon’s delivery service.

Sharp, slices sourdough like butter. Comfortable in hand. Bought one for a friend and had to get for myself as well!

I'm more than happy with this knife! I was on the fence about spending more money for a knife brand I know, but I'm thrilled with this knife. It's extremely well made and beautiful. It doesn't have stripes on the blade as you see in the picture but that is a reflection only. I highly recommend purchasing this if you are looking for a good quality bread knife. I may a really purchase some more from them now knowing how nice these are.

If it wasn't for Amazon reviewers I would never have found this knife, so thank you! This knife is the one on the right in the picture with 2 knives.We have been making our own bread and I have always struggled to cut bread straight or not mangle it. Even when cooled I can't seem to cut it. We had a bread knife from a $200 knife set from Costco. My husband spent $30-40 on the other knife in the photo. This knife was amazing. I wasn't expecting such a MASSIVE difference in knife performance.I took a closeup of some slices and put a spoon next to the slices so you could see now thin we have now been able to cut the bread. Even I can cut bread now and not mangle it. We both cut a few pieces and could NOT believe the difference.Thank you Amazon and the whole community on here! I can now cut my loaves of boule and they are nice and thin and a super clean cut!

I'm giving this knife four stars out of five. I'm happy with the knife, it's sturdy, sharp and has a nice quality feel. The lack of the fifth star is for the packaging. I've mixed feelings about it. One one hand it's very fancy, double boxed with a custom lined cut out. On the other hand I could not help but feel it was a bit overkill. Once I take out the knife, the fancy packaging is really just trash. It would be inconvenient for me to put in back in the box after every use unless I was only going to use it on special occasions and show off in front of company.the plastic sheath it came with will protect the knife, no need for all that cardboard. It also comes with a very thick booklet inside, again, it's a knife, what do I need all that information for? it's just not very eco friendly, I guess the key chain is a nice bonus. So yes, a nice knife for the price but now I just feel guilty about tossing the fancy box and the booklet, at least it can go in the recycle bin.

Update: I changed my original review. I originally bought the 10" gladiator series bread knife. You can read my honest comments below. Gooseberry the company has excellent customer service and wanted too help me get the right knife for my sourdough bread. They sent me the 9" shadow black series knife. The seasons are closer together so they don't skip across the hard crust like the gladiator series knife did. I'm sure my original knife would work great in softer crusted breads, but this shadow black series knife is so much more appropriate for sourdough bread crust! My original review: Heavy, and not sharp enough for sourdough bread was disappointed. For the high price, I thought it would be razor sharp... and I can't find anybody local who can sharpen serrated blades. It is too thick and dull to easily cut through my sourdough bread loaves.

First let me say that I have NOT received any discounts, products, etc. in exchange for a favorable rating. Also, I am not a professional chef so what I write is for us home cooks.I bake and I needed a good bread knife. I did my research and settled on this DALSTRONG Gladiator Series knife. When I received it I was impressed with the weight and balance-very comfortable. The knife fit my hand like it was custom made for me. When I baked my bread this morning I finally had a chance to use it. I made 2 artisan style loaves-nice crisp chewy crust-this knife just glided through it. It took very little effort to get slices of bread from ultra thin to very thick. This knife is EVERYTHING that I was looking for. My sister is an amazing chef and I insisted that she try this knife. She too liked the feel and was pleased with the way that it cut the bread. She said that this was a very good fit for me.I give this knife 5 stars because it exceeded my needs in every way. DALSTRONG even emailed me to make sure that I received the knife and if I had any questions. Outstanding customer service.Would I recommend this knife to anyone? Without hesitation. Would I purchase from them again? I am looking for a new chefs knife...think I will go with DALSTRONG.One of the best purchases I have made at Amazon.

This knife is AWESOME! It is like a work of art but i use it to cut bread from my beloved bread machine.
