As noted in other reviews, the 2" Dowell is made of glued pieces and should be declared in the description for those that need a solid wood piece for cosmetic reasons. I knew this, thanks to other reviewers, but it doesn't have any impact on the strength or the suitability for my project.

I ordered this to construct 2 jet engines on a A-10 model wooden toy plane. Worked very well. The plan called for using a 1" round over bit to make 2" Dia. engines from wood stock. One of those bits is pretty $$ and not a bit I would use often. I found this much easier. There were some small wood plugs like 1/4" x 2" in the dowel to obviously fill knot holes but most of the dowel was very clean and worked great for me. Have a tough time finding one this large a a home center and likely not as high quality.

This seller needs to be more realistic and upfront with the product they're selling. The 2" dowel I received looked NOTHING like the advertised images, which appear to be a solid wood dowel. Instead what arrived looks more like hard wood flooring that's been poorly glued together, with inconsistent grain, dents and beat up edges. You guys should also make it more clear what species of wood this is. One description says birch, but someone also asked in the question section and a rep from your company answered ash. My plan was to use this for a furniture application, and leave it natural with a clear finish, so all of these details matter! For the price, I'd expect a single piece of hard wood, which I've found elsewhere online for similar cost. I figured I'd give these guys a shot because of the convenient and fast shipping, but boy was that a mistake. If you don't care about visual appearance, this might be for you, but I'd also say look in the big box hardware stores, you can get something paint grade for half the price.

It is made of wonderful hardwood. I needed it to fill 2” wholes drilled in an old door. It worked perfectly.

No flaws in this piece of wood. Very solid

Sliced this up to 5/8" discs for Dutch shuffleboard. NOT solid hardwood but pieces joined together. Wasn't clear in the description but time will tell how they hold up for my application.
