How many pages does this album have?

I don't recall the number of pages but it can hold 160 photos but landslide only

Can the album hold both 4x6 (horizontal) and 5x7 (vertical) pictures? Is there any room to write?

It can hold 2 4x6 pictures. it is divided by a sealed section. No it can not hold a 5x7. Yes there is a space provided to write comments.

Are there individual pockets for each photo

Yes, there are individual pockets for each 4x6 photo.

What size is the album outside?

The one I bought was for a gift. Since I do not have it I can not measure to be sure what size it is but it is not much bigger than the 4 by 6 pictures it hold. so maybe a 5 by 7 size if that big. It is beautiful and very well made.
