The good part is that the beads sound exactly like they did in 4th grade. :) The bad part is that after reading around I decided that since I'm 5'2", I should get the 8 foot rope. Bad move because the rope is only 8' long if you go from tip of handle to tip of handle. The rope itself (between the handles) is only 6'10", and there's no way I can clear my feet, no matter what style I use (speed, cross, reverse, freestyle, etc.). And there are no returns in this. Good thing it's close to Christmas, I can donate it to Toys for Tots. But how irritating!! If you bought the rope too long you can easily move the knot holding it on the handles, shortening the rope, but if it's too short, you're stuck. Go long.

This jump rope works just fine, though part of it was NOT beaded, but just empty rope. Some say it's like that on purpose so you can adjust the jumprope and make it shorter, but that doesn't make sense. I want to use the rope at its full length, and it's a pinch unsightly with the missing beads. Plus I can always remove excess beads in order to shorten it. The maker is apparently reducing quality to make more profit.I preferred this jumprope, which had slightly larger (standard in my opinion) beads and was filled more completely with beads:  US Games Segmented Skip Rope, 8-Feet, Blue/WhiteUS Games Segmented Skip Rope, 8-Feet, Blue/White

Pretty, bright colors. Perfect for kids size. The quality was a little disappointing. One hand one each jump broke within the 1 week . My daughters are 8 and 10 and they dont really pay rough . ( 1 bought 2)

My girls LOVE these. They are so much better than the cheap jump ropes you get at Walmart the segments add just enough weight to make jump roping easy and fun. I purchased two one for a 10 year old and one for a 7 year old. The length is perfect for your average 10 yo, for my 7 yo I did pull out a few segments and shorten it. It was very easy to do, just keep them and you can add them back as they grow.

I use jumpropes like this in my boot camp class and I love how durable they feel so I wanted one for my own use at home. I'm 5'2" and this 8' rope fits me perfectly, I love it!
