Q: Can this be stored for a week before opening? It’s a gift for my sons birthday.

No! Unfortunately I thought the samething for daughter birthday. But when it arrived it had PERISH ON IT. MUST OPEN WHEN ARRIVE

Q: My package just got delivered and I opened it up and the caterpillars are all upside down and not moving. Are they dead?

It's been a while since I got this, but they are probably just "sleeping". I'd give them a day or so to see if they start moving around. If they don't, contact the seller.

Q: How long until they turn into butterflies?

It varies but this last group took not even two weeks.

Q: If it’s being delivered how long can the caterpillars sit outside?

It depends on the temperature. They are love caterpillars, so you should try to bring them inside immediately if possible. You will receive a delivery notification.
